The Laser Operator plays an essential role in the manufacturing process by operating laser cutting equipment to produce precise, high-quality metal components. This position is responsible for setting up and monitoring laser cutting machines, adjusting equipment settings, and ensuring finished parts meet required specifications and quality standards. The Laser Operator must demonstrate strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to workplace safety.
This role requires the ability to work independently, troubleshoot basic equipment issues, and maintain a clean and organized work environment. By ensuring accurate cutting operations and minimizing equipment downtime, the Laser Operator contributes directly to production efficiency, product quality, and overall manufacturing success.
ResponsibilitiesSet up, operate, and monitor laser cutting machines to produce metal components according to job specifications.
Adjust laser settings and machine parameters to ensure accurate cuts and maintain product quality.
Read and interpret work orders, technical drawings, and measurements to verify cutting requirements.
Use precision measuring tools, including calipers and tape measures, to inspect finished parts and verify dimensions.
Perform routine equipment inspections, basic maintenance, and minor adjustments to maintain optimal machine performance.
Identify and report equipment malfunctions, material inconsistencies, or quality concerns to the supervisor.
Maintain cleanliness of laser cutting equipment and surrounding work areas to support safe and efficient operations.
Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and equipment operating guidelines.
Monitor production processes to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with quality standards.
Collaborate with supervisors and team members to meet production schedules and operational goals.
Previous experience operating laser cutting machinery in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Ability to accurately use calipers, tape measures, and other precision measuring tools.
Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
Basic understanding of laser cutting operations, equipment settings, and maintenance procedures.
Ability to follow instructions and work efficiently with minimal supervision.
Reliable transportation to and from the worksite.
Physical ability to stand, bend, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift.
Ability to lift up to 100 lbs.
Strong commitment to workplace safety and quality standards.
Experience working in a metal fabrication or manufacturing environment.
Familiarity with CNC laser cutting systems or similar industrial machinery.
Strong mechanical aptitude, precision measuring, and attention to detail are essential for operating laser cutting equipment accurately and efficiently. The ability to interpret work orders, technical drawings, and measurements ensures metal components meet required specifications and quality standards. Basic troubleshooting and equipment maintenance skills help minimize downtime and maintain consistent production performance.
