Job Description

A Quality Technician plays a crucial role in the manufacturing process, ensuring that the product meets quality standards for our customers.
Requirements:• Understand basic aspects of engineering drawings- length, width, bend angle, revision level, title block
• Familiar with the use of calipers, micrometers, and tape measure
• Computer literate and familiar with Microsoft Outlook, Word, & Excel
• Communicate effectively (written & verbal) with team members and cross functional groups
• Determine weld defects using visual inspection
• Create NCP in QT9 without being told
• Able to pull drawings in Vault
• Access documents in QT9- document portal
• Work independently with minimal direction from others. This individual will also be responsible for the training of entry level Quality Inspectors (Quality Inspector I) as needed
• Able to communicate effectively (written & verbal) with SQE’s when needed
• Able to interpret weld spacing call outs
• Able to accurately markup a drawing
• Able to enter scrap in ABAS
• Able to transfer parts in ABAS
• Able to quarantine suspect product by checking stock level and working with inventory
• Be familiar with Lean Manufacturing concepts
• Able to demonstrate the following leadership skills:
• Able and willing to train and mentor class I and class II Quality Inspectors
• Able and willing to set the work pace
• Have positive attitude everyday as defined by leadership and peers
• NCP’s must be clear, concise and include all pertinent information- pictures of defect and highlighted print of defect- anyone should be able to determine the defect based on the information in the NCP
• Able to interpret all aspects of drawings- sectional view, BOM breakdown, models
• Able to fill out First Article Inspection forms
• Able to complete EASE audits
• Able to verify torque with DTC wrench
A Quality Inspector must also be able to demonstrate Quality skills in other departments as well.
