This remote Field Service Expert role is an excellent opportunity for a skilled mechanical professional who enjoys solving complex technical challenges while working directly with customers across the Power, Oil & Gas sector. As the primary on-site technical representative, you will play a critical role in maintaining, repairing, and commissioning industrial power transmission equipment while ensuring the highest standards of safety and service quality. This position combines hands-on field work with technical problem-solving and customer relationship management, offering significant autonomy and variety. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, contribute to service excellence, and help drive long-term customer satisfaction through reliable technical support. Extensive domestic travel allows you to work across diverse industrial environments while making a direct impact on customer operations. - Perform inspection, troubleshooting, disassembly, reassembly, overhaul, and maintenance of hydrodynamic and geared industrial equipment used in the Power, Oil & Gas sector.
- Lead and execute field service assignments while maintaining exceptional safety standards and compliance with industry best practices.
- Deliver commissioning, preventive maintenance, emergency repairs, diagnostics, and technical troubleshooting for industrial rotating equipment.
- Provide professional customer support both on-site and remotely via phone and email, ensuring timely issue resolution and outstanding service.
- Prepare detailed service reports, maintenance documentation, and failure analyses following field interventions.
- Collaborate closely with technical teams and support service objectives while assisting the sales organization with technical expertise.
- Promote aftermarket services, maintenance programs, and equipment upgrade opportunities to support long-term customer success.
- Participate in special projects and travel domestically and internationally as required to support customer operations.
- 5–7 years of field service experience working with rotating machinery in the Power, Oil & Gas industry.
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting and maintenance expertise; experience with mechanical power transmission systems is considered an advantage.
- Mechanical Engineering degree is preferred but not required; experienced Mechanical Technicians are encouraged to apply.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, manuals, and engineering documentation.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare professional service reports and communicate effectively with customers.
- Excellent customer relationship-building skills with a proactive, service-oriented mindset.
- Confident decision-making abilities and the capability to work independently in customer-facing environments.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Willingness to travel up to 70% across the United States, with occasional international travel.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting up to 30 pounds, prolonged standing, repetitive tasks, and safely using required personal protective equipment.
