This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Lead Data Platform Engineer | Azure | Databricks | Python based in Brazil.

This role offers the opportunity to lead the technical evolution of a global data platform within an innovative digital transformation environment.
You will shape scalable data architectures, define engineering standards, and enable teams to build reliable solutions using modern cloud technologies.
The position combines hands-on technical leadership with strategic influence across engineering teams and business stakeholders.
You will act as a reference point for data platform decisions, driving best practices and continuous improvement.
Working at the intersection of data engineering, cloud infrastructure, and analytics, you will help accelerate technology initiatives at scale.

Accountabilities:

As a Lead Data Platform Engineer, you will be responsible for driving the architecture, development, and continuous improvement of enterprise-scale data solutions. You will collaborate with engineering teams, architects, and product stakeholders to establish technical direction, improve platform capabilities, and promote engineering excellence.

  • Lead the technical evolution of the global data platform, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.
  • Define architecture standards, engineering practices, and best practices for solutions built on Azure and Databricks.
  • Act as a technical reference for engineering teams, supporting architecture decisions, technical discussions, and code reviews.
  • Design and develop reusable components, frameworks, and accelerators to improve engineering productivity.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements to strengthen platform capabilities.
  • Collaborate with architects, Product Owners, and stakeholders to define technical strategies and roadmaps.
  • Mentor engineers, share knowledge, and help raise the technical maturity of the team.
  • Support the adoption of modern development practices, including automation, CI/CD, and cloud-native approaches.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate is a senior data engineering professional with strong technical leadership experience and the ability to influence decisions across multiple teams. You should combine deep expertise in cloud data platforms with strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

  • Proven experience leading complex technical initiatives and defining solutions for large-scale data platforms.
  • Strong experience designing architectures, standards, and best practices for data engineering environments.
  • Ability to influence technical decisions across different teams and stakeholders.
  • Experience conducting code reviews and mentoring other engineers.
  • Hands-on experience with Databricks.
  • Strong development skills in Python and/or PySpark.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Azure cloud services.
  • Experience with Git and CI/CD practices.
  • Experience with Unity Catalog, Delta Live Tables (DLT), or Databricks Asset Bundles (DABs).
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English within a global environment.
  • Experience designing enterprise data platforms at scale is highly valued.
  • Familiarity with technical roadmap definition and cloud/data certifications is a plus.
  • Experience working in distributed and international teams is an advantage.
