Position Summary

The Warehouse Manager is responsible for the overall performance of warehouse employees by providing effective direction, follow-up, training and supervision. This position leads and manages the warehouse operations consistent with company goals of satisfying customer requirements within government regulations. This position also works with others on the leadership team to meet the plant key production indicators and goals in the areas of safety, quality, service, productivity, cost, and morale.

Essential Job Functions

• Leads and manages the overall warehouse deliverables including staff performance and shipping goals (quality, safety, cost, sanitation, productivity, morale).

• Resolves shipping and receiving issues as they arise.

• Assures timely shipping of finished goods to meet scheduled dock appointments.

• Manages inventory consisting of finished goods, food and packaging materials, and supplies assuring First in First out (FIFO) stock rotation as well as current date coding.

• Assures appropriate staffing levels for efficient operations through hiring, training, and scheduling of employees.

• Adheres to and administers all facility policies fairly and consistently.

• Coordinates the proper rotation of waste feed trailers, trash containers, pallet trailers etc to assure proper plant sanitation levels. Stocks miscellaneous production materials as assigned assuring cost effective and efficient operations.

• Supervises and implements training of employees on proper Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s), Lock-out/tag-out, Forklift Safety, Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP), HAZCOM and other safety training as appropriate.

• Works with other departments to coordinate production material supply activities to accomplish plant production goals. Communicates daily with other shift supervisors to ensure smooth transitions between shifts with efficient use of resources.

• Conducts area-specific process improvement activities including identification of opportunities, project planning and execution. Address opportunities to increase the team’s effectiveness including skill training, goal setting, facilitating effective team meetings, to include rewarding and recognizing the team’s progress.

• Ensures appropriate level and depth of cross training in each area.

• Delivers all attendance and other counseling to Warehouse employees

• Identifies addresses and resolves conflicts within the teams or between individuals.

• Provides leadership by demonstrating a positive, respectful, resilient and results oriented approach.

• Communicates with maintenance, quality and/or other departments.

• Maintains forklift fleet through the use of contract repair and in-house maintenance staff

• Records and ensure accuracy of daily production results.

• Performs physical inventory tasks as needed.

• Manages and approves break schedules, regular schedules and leave requests for warehouse employees.

• Assist with plant trials and coordination activities

• Works with sales team concerning product samples.

• Works with Quality Control in order to meet SQF and Co-Manufactures Standards.

Education/Training

Required:

• HS diploma or equivalent

Preferred:

• BA/BS in Business and/or related program

Experience/Knowledge/Abilities

Required:

• 5 to 8 years warehouse experience to include 2 or more years in a supervisory or lead capacity

• Demonstrated excellent communication, teamwork and partnership skills

• Ability to effectively resolve conflict and manage challenging situations

• Working knowledge of MS Office products

• Leadership experience and demonstrated effectiveness in a leadership role

• Strong planning, organizing, prioritization, and multitasking skills

• Working knowledge of QAD or equivalent Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) /

Preferred:

• 8 to 10 years warehouse experience

Employees Supervised: Warehouse Supervisor, Associate Warehouse Supervisor, warehouse leads and warehouse employees

Travel: Some travel
