About This Position
The Credit Administration Department ensures quality control and effective risk management in commercial lending and portfolio management processes. This includes activities related to monitoring credit risk in the Bank’s loan portfolio, coordinating developing new processes, addressing accounting issues, helping with the implementation and management of software systems, and providing guidance and feedback to the commercial loan processing team. The Department also oversees the commercial appraisal process from the initial service request through review and loan closing.
The Credit Admin Analyst/Assistant Manager will perform duties in support of the department’s goals, which may include duties listed below. Job title and compensation will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Supporting the Commercial Loan Portfolio (70%):

Administration Accountability (20%):
- Supports and backs up Appraisal Coordinator.
- Provides expertise in the appraisal engagement process to establish valid property rights and values in commercial appraisals ordered.
- Assists in the management of the Commercial Team’s needs for ordering appraisals which are contracted through third party vendors to ensure accuracy, compliance and collateral risk mitigation.
Special Projects/Other (10%):
- Collaborates with other areas/departments of C&F Bank.
- Assists with special projects and other duties as assigned.
- Provide loan system maintenance support as needed specific to problem loan accounting.

QualificationsQualifications:
Education and Experience:
- A minimum of five (5) years of banking experience required.
- Commercial Real Estate background with banking exposure preferred.
- Experience with the bank’s core operating system (Fiserv) preferred
- Experience with loan classification and reporting preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or Business Management preferred. A combination of work experience and education will be considered.
- Detailed knowledge of real estate appraisal regulations preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Excellent judgment and creative problem-solving skills, including negotiation and conflict resolution, required.
- Strong administrative abilities, with well-developed management principles and effective people skills.
- Demonstrated proficiency in the use of standard and specialized computer hardware and software packages such as Microsoft Office.
- Read and understand a variety of reports, spreadsheets and forms
- Effectively and clearly communicate information through all media channels
- Effectively facilitate processes and operations with vendors and bank staff at all levels
- Handle several tasks simultaneously and work under time restraints
Travel
Must be able to travel to all Bank locations, including subsidiaries.
Physical demands:
Employee may experience the following physical demands for extended periods of time: view computer monitors, keyboarding, sitting, motion of fingers/hands/wrists, and standing/walking.
Work Environment:
Work is performed onsite in an operational office environment.
