ABOUT ORR
The mission of CPLC's Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) is to promote the health, well-being, and stability of refugees, unaccompanied alien children, and other eligible individuals and families, through culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and strengths-based services. HOW WILL YOU MAKE AN IMPACT?
As the Recreation Coordinator, you will oversee the recreational goals of the facility and establish recreational entertainment for children in care, to include the design, coordination, and facilitation of social, cultural, and educational activities and outings. You will ensure consistent implementation of program procedures, organization, and management of data and related documentation. Further, you will always demonstrate appropriate boundaries with youth, ensuring appropriate care and supervision. You will promote a work environment conducive to safety and effective communication, collaboration, team building and professionalism. You will also participate and encourage cross collaboration with other departments to provide a comprehensive continuum of services to clients.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES

  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Minimum 1 years of experience in recreation or related field preferred.
  • Ability to obtain fingerprint clearance card, CPR, CPI and First Aid Certifications.
  • Bilingual language skills in English/Spanish and as appropriate to population served required.
  • Must be computer literate and possess basic computer skills, such as data entry and usage of Microsoft Office.
  • Must be able to report to work in cases of emergencies.
  • Cleared background check from appropriate entity.
  • Cleared drug test results.
  • Able to follow technical instructions.
  • Ability to build a strong, dedicated team.
  • Ability to apply empathy and culturally sensitive when working with clients and staff
  • Training, education and experience in community outreach, public health or social work preferred.
