Job Overview
Responsible for the overall success of the cemetery, office, sales and grounds teams and meeting the needs of customers. Employs exemplary leadership skills to make sure the cemetery and the personnel achieve their potential. The successful candidate will have a strong work ethic, good decision making and previous experience in a management position, including supervision of at least 4 direct reports.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Oversees all administrative functions along with leading and managing employees, while holding them accountable for their performance.
- Achieves profit contribution by managing staff, establishing and accomplishing business objectives. Responsible for overall profit & loss for the operating location.
- Ensure all areas of the operation work as a collaborative system. Delegates tasks such as accounting, paperwork and payroll.
- Increases effectiveness of staff by hiring, orienting, training, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; communicating values, strategies, and objectives; assigning accountabilities; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; developing incentives; developing a climate for offering information and opinions; providing educational opportunities.
- Accomplishes company objectives by developing plans, budgets, and results measurements for consideration; allocating resources; reviewing progress; making mid-course corrections in an effort to grow the business. Strong follow through.
- Develops, reviews, updates and implements strategic planning, including customer service, sales, financial performance and new product development.
- Builds company image by collaborating with customers, community organizations, and employees; enforcing ethical business practices.
- Uses technology to stay relevant and compete with online solutions.
- Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.
- Identifies operational problems, opportunities and drives improvements without being asked.
- Proactively addresses matters with difficult clients; is able to resolve conflict and make tough decisions.
Qualifications
· Supervisory skills; minimum of 4 years of previous management experience.
· Must have a reliable vehicle, mileage reimbursed.
- Strong leadership skills, proven collaborator and team player.
- Ability to work individually with minimal supervision or as part of a team with sound judgement and decision-making ability.
- Ability to delegate to accomplish responsibilities.
- Good analytical, negotiation, and decision-making skills.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills.

- Fluency in Spanish a plus but not required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.

The pay range for this role is:
80,000 - 85,000 USD per year(Aurora, IL)
