ABOUT THE ROLE

Our busy personal injury law firm is looking for a meticulous and trustworthy Disbursement

Specialist to manage the final stage of our clients’ cases — the accurate and timely distribution of

settlement funds. You will play a critical role in ensuring every dollar is accounted for, every lien and

medical provider is properly addressed, and every client receives their funds with clarity and

confidence. If you are a numbers-minded professional who takes accuracy and integrity seriously,

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare settlement disbursement statements and closing statements for attorney review and client signature
• Process and record settlement deposits and issue disbursement checks to clients, medical providers, lienholders, and other parties in accordance with firm procedures
• Request, verify, and track final lien and balance information from medical providers, insurers, and other lienholders
• Assist attorneys and case managers with lien reductions and negotiations by providing accurate payoff and balance documentation
• Reconcile trust account activity and maintain accurate ledgers for each client file
• Communicate with clients regarding the status of their disbursement, explaining the process clearly and professionally
• Track and report disbursement metrics, including pending settlements, outstanding liens, and time from settlement to payout
• Maintain strict confidentiality and handle all client financial and case information with the highest level of professionalism

QUALIFICATIONS

• Prior experience in a law firm, accounting, bookkeeping, or financial administration environment preferred
• Familiarity with trust accounting (IOLTA), personal injury settlements, and medical liens is a plus
• Excellent communication skills — you can clearly explain financial details to clients, providers, and attorneys
• Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail and numerical accuracy
• Ability to manage multiple settlements and deadlines simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and composure
• Sound judgment, discretion, and a high standard of integrity when handling client funds
• Proficiency with computers and spreadsheets; experience with legal case management or accounting software is a plus
• Reliable, punctual, and committed to representing the firm with integrity
• Bilingual Spanish/English is a strong plus

SCHEDULE & LOCATION

• Monday through Friday, 8-hour shifts
• Full-time, in-person position — remote work is not available
