Senior AI Solution Architect

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior AI Solution Architect based in the United States.

As a Senior AI Solution Architect, you will lead the discovery, design, and rapid development of AI-powered solutions that address complex business and operational challenges. Embedded within cross-functional teams, you will work closely with business leaders, product managers, commercial stakeholders, and technical specialists to identify opportunities for automation and innovation. You will turn ambiguous problems into practical technical approaches, build prototypes, and validate solutions using real-world data and workflows. Your work will help improve efficiency, reduce costs, support revenue growth, and enhance the overall customer experience. This hands-on role combines technical expertise, business acumen, and strategic problem-solving in a fast-moving enterprise environment. You will also help bring successful solutions into production, encourage adoption, and contribute to the development of reusable capabilities across the organization.

Accountabilities

You will act as a business-embedded technical leader, connecting operational needs with practical AI and technology solutions. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Work directly with Marketplace, product, operations, and commercial teams to understand workflows, business processes, operational challenges, and edge cases.

  • Identify, assess, and prioritize AI and automation opportunities based on business value, feasibility, and scalability.

  • Translate complex or ambiguous business challenges into structured technical approaches, solution hypotheses, and actionable development plans.

  • Build and deploy rapid prototypes and proof of concepts using enterprise data, internal platforms, and modern AI, machine learning, and large language model technologies.

  • Test and validate solutions against real-world workflows and data to demonstrate measurable business impact.

  • Collaborate with Technology and Data/AI teams to transform validated prototypes into scalable, production-ready solutions.

  • Bridge communication between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring clear requirements and consistent understanding throughout delivery.

  • Support implementation, adoption, and continuous improvement by remaining involved during rollouts and subsequent iterations.

  • Define and monitor performance indicators related to operational efficiency, cost savings, revenue contribution, and user adoption.

  • Share practical insights and contribute reusable frameworks, tools, and improvements to enterprise platforms.

  • Coordinate multiple high-impact initiatives simultaneously, working with stakeholders across different functions.

  • Mentor less experienced colleagues and support the development of the forward-deployed engineering capability.

Requirements

The ideal candidate combines strong software engineering capabilities with business judgment, adaptability, and a hands-on approach to solving complex problems. The following qualifications are expected:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent professional experience.

  • At least 10 years of experience in software engineering or technical solution development.

  • Demonstrated experience building and deploying AI, machine learning, automation, or data-driven solutions in business or enterprise environments.

  • Strong programming skills and practical experience developing working prototypes using Python, Java, or similar languages.

  • Proven ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions in close collaboration with stakeholders.

  • Experience taking solutions from initial concept through prototype development and validation.

  • Familiarity with structured and unstructured data sources and their integration into technical solutions.

  • Experience managing several complex projects or initiatives concurrently.

  • Strong problem-framing, analytical thinking, and decision-making skills, particularly when working with unclear requirements or evolving priorities.

  • A builder mindset, with the curiosity, initiative, and ownership needed to move quickly from problem discovery to practical implementation.

  • Ability to connect technical decisions to measurable business outcomes and communicate their value clearly.

  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, including the ability to engage effectively with technical teams, business partners, and senior leadership.

  • Collaborative approach and ability to influence others without relying on formal authority.

  • Business acumen to balance potential value, technical feasibility, scalability, and adoption.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree or advanced technical training.

  • Experience in eCommerce, online marketplaces, retail, or related industries.

  • Background implementing AI or automation solutions in large, complex enterprise environments.

  • Familiarity with enterprise data platforms, cloud infrastructure, and modern AI/LLM tooling ecosystems.

  • Experience working between business units and centralized technology or data organizations.

  • Track record of contributing to reusable platforms, technical frameworks, or internal tools.

  • Previous experience in forward-deployed engineering, solutions engineering, or another business-embedded technical role.

  • Ability to measure, quantify, and communicate the business impact of technical solutions.

Benefits

  • Annual base salary ranging from $129,000 to $180,000, plus eligibility for an annual incentive.

  • 22 days of paid time off.

  • Paid holiday schedule, including 7 observed holidays and 1 floating holiday.

  • Company-matched 401(k) retirement plan.

  • Online and in-store discounts.

  • Physical and mental health and wellness programs.

  • Inclusive workplace culture supported by associate-led Business Resource Groups.

  • Remote work flexibility, with the option to work remotely from the United States and travel as needed. The preferred location is the company's Framingham, Massachusetts headquarters.
