Retail Sales Manager

Pella Windows & Doors | Denver, Colorado

Compensation: $90,000–$110,000 Base Salary
On-Target Earnings (OTE): $130,000–$150,000 annually, including commission and bonus opportunities.

Great sales teams don't happen by accident. They're built by great leaders.

At Pella Windows & Doors, we're looking for an experienced, forward-thinking Retail Sales Manager who knows how to turn individual sales talent into a high-performing team. This is an opportunity for a leader who enjoys developing people, understands the power of data, and knows that consistent sales success requires more than simply hitting a number. Our Retail Sales team works directly with homeowners, providing personalized, in-home consultations and helping customers make meaningful investments in their homes. We're looking for someone who can lead that team with energy, accountability, and a clear strategy for continued growth.

What You'll Do

Lead, Coach & Inspire

  • Lead and develop a team of in-home, B2C sales professionals, creating a culture of accountability, collaboration, and high performance.
  • Provide meaningful coaching, regular performance feedback, and hands-on field support to help sales representatives strengthen their skills and achieve their goals.
  • Build engagement and maintain momentum throughout the natural peaks and valleys of a seasonal sales business.
  • Identify individual strengths, develop future leaders, and create opportunities for continued professional growth.
  • Recruit, onboard, and develop sales talent while building a team positioned for long-term success.

Drive Sales Performance & Efficiency

  • Own team sales performance, including revenue, conversion rates, pipeline management, productivity, and overall sales effectiveness.
  • Leverage Salesforce to monitor activity, evaluate performance, identify trends, and drive informed business decisions.
  • Analyze sales data to uncover opportunities, improve processes, and maximize team efficiency.
  • Develop proactive strategies to maintain productivity, strengthen pipelines, and sustain performance during seasonal fluctuations.
  • Establish clear expectations, measurable goals, and consistent performance management practices.

Think Strategically & Drive Improvement

  • Look beyond today's numbers to anticipate challenges, identify opportunities, and build strategies for future growth.
  • Evaluate existing sales processes and introduce practical improvements that enhance both the customer experience and sales results.
  • Partner with sales leadership, marketing, and operations to align priorities and deliver a seamless customer experience.
  • Bring fresh ideas, challenge outdated approaches when appropriate, and use technology to make the team more effective.
  • Balance the analytical side of sales management with the human side of leading and motivating people.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for a leader who combines strong business instincts with the ability to connect with, challenge, and develop people.

You'll bring:

  • Proven experience, leading and developing successful sales teams, preferably in a B2C, in-home, consultative, or other relationship-driven sales environment.
  • A demonstrated history of improving sales productivity, team efficiency, and overall performance.
  • CRM experience is strongly preferred, including pipeline management, reporting, dashboards, and performance analysis.
  • Advanced computer skills, strong analytical capabilities, and confidence in using technology to drive better business outcomes.
  • Experience establishing sales goals, evaluating performance metrics, and translating data into actionable strategies.
  • The ability to motivate a team through changing market conditions, seasonal demand, and challenging sales cycles.
  • Strong coaching, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • A proactive, adaptable leadership style with the confidence to make decisions and the curiosity to continuously improve.
  • Experience in home improvement, building products, remodeling, or other in-home consultative sales environments is a plus, but not required.

What Makes Someone Successful Here?

  • You understand that sales leadership isn't about being the best salesperson in the room. It's about making everyone on your team better.
  • You're comfortable digging into Salesforce dashboards, but you also know when to get out from behind your desk and coach someone in the field.
  • You don't wait until the end of the month to discover there's a problem. You recognize trends, ask questions, and take action.
  • You know how to celebrate wins, address performance challenges, and keep a team focused and engaged, even when business naturally slows.
  • Most importantly, you take ownership. You bring ideas, build solutions, and understand that developing great people and delivering strong business results go hand in hand.
