Minimum Education

Associates, High School Diploma, or GED equivalent preferred

Minimum Work Experience

1 year or more experience in a Hospital or Physician Practice setting

Strong knowledge of medical terminology

Required Licenses/Certifications

Certified Scheduling Technician preferred

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

Prior understanding and use of Electronic Health Record (EMR)

Strong knowledge of medical terminology

Excellent communication skills

Strong attention to detail

Ability to multitask, can work in a fast paced clinical environment, can engage patients, peers, and supervisors in a dedicated, comforting, respectful and effective way and has the ability to adapt to change.

Scheduling surgeries and procedures for our Gastroenterology, Podiatry, Urology and Physiatrist departments.

Coordinate all required testing and procedures

Ensure all requires pre-testing, patient information and consents have been obtained and are on-site prior to patient's admission to hospital.

Demonstrate good judgment in scheduling procedures to both meet patient needs and increase physician productivity.

Cross trained in all scheduler recall duties

Acting as a liaison with patients, referrals, general practitioners, health care professionals, and patient's family member in a compassionate and kind manner

Relaying and confidentially communicating both orally and in written form any notes or questions patients may have

Other office responsibilities, assigned by supervisor or Physician, as deemed necessary
