Custodial Supervisor at Barton Community College – Great Bend, Kansas

Position Description: Supervises the custodian staff. Cleans campus buildings and their contents using specified products and equipment and replenish supplies as needed. Fills in for shipping and receiving clerk as needed.
Position Responsibilities: 35.00% - Supervise custodial personnel and inspect buildings on a weekly basis.
35.00% - Act as a roving custodian in the cleaning of campus buildings as needed and to provide coverage in emergencies or when staff are absent.
10.00% - Coordinate the ordering, receiving and delivery of custodial supplies and equipment for the custodial staff, seeing that equipment is maintained and any problems are reported and fixed.
10.00% - Organizes the set-up for small events or for larger events as required by the college.
5.00% - Maintains campus MSDS sheets and inventory.
5.00% - Performs other duties as needed or assigned.
Expectations: To assign work to personnel on a weekly basis with the Coordinator of Facilities Management.
To be adaptable and flexible about performing services in several buildings and areas.
To work as a team on assigned tasks and projects.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Experience - Six months to two years of similar or related experience.
Education - A high school education or GED.
Interpersonal Skills - A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact. Work involves extensive personal contact with others and/or can be of a personal or sensitive nature. Work may involve motivating or influencing others. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary.
Other Skills - Supervisory skills. Knowledge of custodial procedures, and various cleaning methods. Knowledge of the various custodial chemicals and supplies.
Physical Requirements: Job requires repetitively lifting light weight objects where frequent bending or stooping alternates with lighter activities.
Regular exposure to unfavorable environments such as weather, body fluids, industrial chemicals, confined locations, dirty, and noisy locations. Wages/Other:

The hourly rate for this position is is $23.26 to $25.94.
