Lab Assistant II in North Kansas City, Missouri at North Kansas City Hospital

SUMMARY: SUMMARY: Under the direction of Clinical Supervisors, Medical Laboratory Scientists and Lab Coordinators performs receptionist, processor(Core, Microbiology or Anatomic Pathology) and phlebotomist duties to serve patients with compassion and empathy. The LA2 must have 1-year NKCH experience and either be cross-trained in 3 departments (Phlebotomy, Processing, Reference Lab or Front Desk/Toxicology) or be a clinical specialist in Microbiology or Pathology.

EXPERIENCE: 12 years work experience preferred, 3 months 1 year venipuncture and/or specimen processing preferred.

SPECIAL SKILLS: Computer usage, customer service, attention to detail, dexterity, comfort handling biological specimens, and stamina.

EDUCATION: Required: High School or Equivalent
