Controller in Clinton, Missouri at Golden Valley Memorial Hospital

Job Description:

Responsible for the general accounting portion of Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare's (GVMH) Finance department. This includes preparation or supervision of general ledger reporting, accounts payable, payroll and fixed asset accounting. Will be actively involved in revenue cycle and reimbursement. Preparation of forecasts, assists in annual preparation of budget, internal and external financial reporting, coordination of audits and cost report, treasury administration and special projects. The Controller will also be part of a team that creates and implements policies and procedures to identify, resolve and document accounting issues, in addition to creating procedures to make the month and year-end close and reporting processes more efficient and accurate.

Must possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills including ability to articulate recommendations in a concise and timely manner. Should be detailed, organized, proactive and a self-starter. Must be confident to made good decisions in a timely manner. Must have the ability to lead change as well as the ability to engage, energize and motivate others. Should have a keen sense of organizational dynamics and how to manage them in order to accomplish objectives. This individual must be a responsive team player with the ability to quickly prioritize among numerous pressing tasks. Should posses proficient PC skills including Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel. Meditech knowledge is a plus.

Education/Credentials:

Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
Four to six years of progressive accounting experience
CPA or MBA preferred
