Job Description

RVCC is looking to hire a Medical Assistant - Springfield Clinic.

Overview of Job Responsibilities:

  • Escort clients into clinical area and assist them physically, when required
  • Document start time in EHR when client is roomed
  • Take vital signs and document them in clients electronic health record
  • Prepare client for Provider's visit, as required
  • Obtain history of the current visit and document information in the client’s chart.
  • Maintain, in conjunction with the Provider, current information regarding allergies, medications, and pertinent family history in the client’s problem and medication sections
  • Ensure all prescriptions sent by fax from the pharmacies are forwarded to the provider and addressed in a timely manner.
  • Determine, arrange and submit for appropriate follow-up care, including follow-up appointments, educational materials, diagnostic testing and third-party referrals; this process may occur in collaboration with the Provider and/or office assistant.
  • Ensure the completeness and accuracy of non-Provider entries into the client’s electronic medical record (e.g. immunizations, medical supplies).

Job Requirements:

Education Level - High school graduate or GED; successful completion of a medical assistant training program

Years of Experience - 1–2 years as a medical assistant preferred

Skills/Abilities - Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills; interpersonal skills; crisis intervention skills; organizational skills; attention to detail; computer skills; good customer relations skills; knowledge of legal and ethical issues pertaining to the profession.

Licensing/Certification - Current CPR certification and Medical Assistant Certificate.

Schedule:

Monday-Friday

Saturday and evening rotation
