POSITION SUMMARY
The primary focus for this position is to provide high-quality service and assistance to credit union members as the primary point of contact at our branch locations for members. Financial Service Representatives III are responsible for assisting members through the loan application process, cross-promoting credit union products and services as appropriate to assist with member financial needs, and to ensure professional, efficient, and welcoming service experience. This role prepares, assesses, processes, and documents all required forms and related documentation for consumer loan products.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES

- Meet service standards and expectations.
- Attend staff and department meetings as scheduled.
- Promote credit union products and services.
- Respond Promptly and courteously to member inquiries.
- Keep work area clean and sensitive material properly secured.
- Complete assigned training in a timely manner as required for compliance with regulations.
- Interview loan applicants and provide information on consumer loan products that best meet the member’s needs. Request and review all required information and documentation to secure a loan.
- Assist member in completing loan applications over the phone and/or electronically.
- Obtain and evaluate credit reports.
- Calculate debt-to-income ratios on consumer loan applicants.
- Identify collateral needs and payment plans for members applying for routine loan products.
- Notify applicant of loan decision. Correspond with members, applicants, and creditors to resolve questions regarding application information.
- Recommend and outline terms of loans. Inform prospective borrowers of loan commitments.
- Develop and maintain interest-rate structure that is consistent with credit union policies and is competitive with the current market.
- Maintain detailed records of all interactions with members and applicants and any actions taken on their behalf.
- Review regulations as they apply to installment loan security agreements.
- Maintain an active NMLS ID
- Manage delinquent account files for the credit union.
- Work to meet performance metric individual and department goals outlined in the FSR monthly incentive sheet.
- Stay up to date on credit union policy and procedures. Adhere to regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Certification:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- NMLS ID is required
- CCUFC or financial counseling certification equivalent is required. CU will facilitate acquiring CCUFC designation.
Required Knowledge and Experience:
- 2-4 years customer service experience
- 1-3 years lending experience
- 1-3 years teller and/or member services experience combined
- Proficiency with computer systems and software applications.
- Knowledge of Credit Union products, services, and philosophy preferred

Requirements:PHYSICAL AND WORK REQUIREMENTS
This is a non-exempt, full-time hourly position, working 40 hours per week on average. A typical schedule for the Financial Service Representative is Monday-Friday with occasional weekend working shifts. The Financial Service Representative operates in a professional office environment regularly where travel to offsite meeting locations, conferences, and events may be required but is rare. This position requires approximately 6 plus hours of stationary daily computer and phone use and occasional lifting of items weighing up to 20 pounds including supplies, equipment, ect. Occasional bending, squatting, twisting, reaching above or below shoulder level, and kneeling is required.
ADITIONAL ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS
Must be eligible to work in the U.S. Sponsorship is not available. A valid driver’s license and personal vehicle in good operating condition are also necessary for this position.
