JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for the supervision, leadership, communication, and goal setting of the Hematology Oncology Center and the staff that works there. This position is considered a working manager who possesses a "can do approach" in putting the patients, physicians, and others first. This individual demonstrates core competencies within the discipline of nursing and patient care.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
• Licensure/Certification:
• Valid RN license to practice nursing in the State of Indiana
• ACLS, BLS required
• ONS Chemo/biotherapy certification required.
• Education:
• Graduate from accredited school of nursing program, Bachelors preferred.
• Experience:
• 3-5 years supervisory experience
• Clinical expertise within Hematology & Oncology
• Electronic medical records experience
• Multidisciplinary office and billing/coding knowledge

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
A. Oversight of departments needs to include responsibility and accountability for the following:
1. Ensures proper orientation and ongoing training of clinical staff. Provides coaching and counseling when appropriate, consults with CNO and HR before disciplinary action.
2. Responsible for completing performance reviews and professional development related to clinical staff.
3. Continually evaluate the safety of the clinic for patients, staff and providers.
4. Maintains compliance and serves as a subject matter expert in policies, procedures, and regulations.
5. Ensures policies and procedures meet regulatory and best practice standards. Makes certain all policies and procedures are implemented, updated and consistently followed.
6. Serves as an advocate for staff and patients, including complaint followup within 24 hrs. Demonstrates, respect, courtesy and empathy in all interactions.
7. Regularly reviews clinic operations to ensure efficiency. This includes but is not limited to staffing, workflow processes, supply usage, billing and charge capture process.
8. Creating and working within an operational and capital budget in conjunction with CNO.
9. Provides effective communication on a regular basis with staff, providers and CNO.
10. Acts as a role model and when necessary assists in staffing the office and infusion clinic.
11. Works with Quality and other departments to meet quality standards set by the organization, ACO and payers.
12. Maintains a high level of knowledge regarding electronic medical records.
13. Performs all other duties as assigned
