JOB PURPOSE AND SUMMARY
The Field Operations Superintendent will report to the Manager of O&M and will oversee preventive and corrective maintenance across McCarthy's utility-scale PV/BESS portfolio. The role has diverse responsibilities, from people management, planning, logistics, administration, field work, and execution. The candidate will require a unique set of skills to be successful in this role, ranging from electrical, civil, mechanical, troubleshooting, trackers, inverters, and controls/SCADA. As a part of McCarthy's growing operations and maintenance group, the role comes with opportunity for advancement and expanded responsibilities.
This is a full-time, site-based position that requires extensive travel to locations that span the continental U.S. Travel subsistence and additional incentives provided per company guidelines.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee preventative /corrective maintenance on equipment as scheduled.
- Project management of multiple sites to ensure annual contractual goals are met
- Long-term maintenance planning with equipment manufacturers.
- Ensure that work is performed in accordance with Environmental and Safety requirements.
- Manage crew supervisors daily to make sure cost and performance goals are consistently met
- Perform the administration, coordination and record keeping of the project's preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance.
- Provide technical assistance to junior staff
- Lead customer interactions pertaining to job walks, quotes, and final job completion
- Dispatch technicians or subcontractors to sites for troubleshooting equipment malfunctions / failures.
- Document site issues and resolutions.
- Managing subcontractors and vendors
- Prepare timely reports.
- Record time as required in MMS software systems.
- Participate in meetings, in person or remotely.
- Oversee/manage site maintenance technicians
- Travel to sites as requested, occasional long distance or overnight travel required
- Ensure plants are restored quickly after an unplanned or forced outage.
- Ability to supervise contractors in the field and ensure safe execution of job
- Work with O&M manager to initiate new opportunities for developing business growth
- Perform and document training and ensure compliance to Job Hazard Analysis, Pre-Job Briefing procedures
- Ability to take direction, identify problems, develop solutions, conduct analysis independently and in collaboration with others
- Track inventory and procuring new/replacement/spare parts from OEM's as needed
- Survey new solar projects for O&M manager
QUALIFICATIONS
- Advance knowledge of electrical equipment.
- Knowledge of applicable safety and environmental regulations.
- Understanding of general workplace safety and ability to follow safety standards as well as help the company improve upon the standards in place.

- Travel required as needed.
- 5 or more years of experience in a power plant or PV Solar O&M/EPC experience.
- Normal plant and/or office environment, including working at heights, high/low ambient temperatures, and high humidity areas.
- Requires standing, sitting, walking, kneeling, twisting, climbing stairs and ladders, and entering plant equipment to access, inspect, or collect data on plant equipment.
- Requires use of personal protective safety equipment (i.e., respirators, safety glasses, hard hat, appropriate footwear, ear plugs, and more).
- May be required to work around rotating and energized equipment, hazardous materials, and chemicals.
