MRI Technologist at University Health System- San Antonio – San Antonio, Texas

POSITION SUMMARY / RESPONSIBILITIES

Demonstrates an excellent knowledge of the operation, procedures, patient safety, and maintenance of the MRI equipment and related systems. Ensures that all required safety precautions & screening are strictly enforced for the protection of customers and personnel. Demonstrates an excellent knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and magnetic resonance physics as applied to MRI procedures and the operation of the department. Assumes responsibility for the operation of the MRI department in the absence of the senior technologist. Coordinates departmental operation with the MRI staff and the Chief Radiologist. Supports the University Health System’s policies, values, and guest relations.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Registry by the American Registry of Radiology Technologists ARRT (R) (MRI) and a license by the Texas Department of Health (CMRT) are required. Three (3) years of radiology experience and five (5) years of MRI experience, including one (1) year as a lead MRI technologist in a hospital setting, are required. Must meet required competencies for position.
