About This Position

General Job Description

The Purchasing Assistant Manager is responsible for supervising and plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our supply chain. He/she will be responsible for managing the procurement process, from identifying suppliers to negotiating contracts and ensuring timely delivery of goods. The ultimate goal is maintaining a steady supply of high-quality materials while controlling costs, achieve optimal productivity, quality, and safety, assuring internal and external customer satisfaction. Preparation may include managing settings, carrying out tests, and regulating the manufacturing processes to ensure they run flawlessly throughout production.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, negotiating contracts and ensuring timely delivery of goods.
  • Collaborate with other departments to forecast demand and plan inventory levels.
  • Monitor supplier performance and take corrective action as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and other important data.
  • Monitor and analyze purchasing trends, supplier pricing, and product availability to identify cost-effective purchasing opportunities.
  • Assist in placing orders, tracking deliveries, and ensuring timely receipt of goods.
  • manage inventory levels, ensuring that stock is maintained at optimal levels to meet operational needs.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, including invoices, receipts, and contracts.
  • Work closely with other departments to understand their purchasing needs and ensure alignment with overall business objectives.
  • Prepare reports on purchasing activities, supplier performance, and cost savings for management review.
  • Ensure that all purchasing activities comply with company policies and relevant regulations.
  • Generate reports to track purchase orders, invoices and other purchasing information.
  • Analyze purchase orders and invoices to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand to ensure adequate inventory levels.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify potential suppliers,
  • Negotiate contracts, and manage inventory levels.
  • Excellent communication skills, collaborating with other departments and maintaining relationships with suppliers.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, SAP, ERP and procurement software is essential to maintain accurate records and streamline the procurement process.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position.

8-hour shift

Required Education and Experience

    • Preferred Bilingual [English/Korean]
    • Have the ability to stand up and sit for 8 to 12 hours daily.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify potential suppliers,
    • Negotiate contracts and manage inventory levels.
    • Excellent communication skills, collaborating with other departments and maintaining relationships with suppliers.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, SAP, ERP and procurement software is essential to maintain accurate records and streamline the procurement process.
    • Preferred qualifications such as Supply chain management and inventory management.
    • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
    • Ability to multitask and manage time effectively under pressure.
    • Experience in supervising or leading a team

Preferred/Desired:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in purchasing or procurement, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with International procurement
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, SAP, and ERP experience with procurement software.
  • Need to be able to work in a fast-paced, high-speed environment, follow standardized work, and adhere to safe work practices in a continuously improving environment.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
  • The ability to work on a team of co-workers in close proximity to each other.
  • The ability to make timely decisions and provide feedback to each other.
  • Have a strong desire for personal and professional development.
