Job Description

OBJECTIVE AND POSITION SUMMARY

The licensed MAT Therapist will provide mental health assessment and services if needed to children that are recently detained by Department of Children and Family Services.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Under the direction of a clinical and administrative supervisor, therapist will be responsible for completing MAT Assessments and appropriate documentation.
  • Provide initial assessments, evaluations, therapy, and referral to psychiatrist when appropriate.
  • Maintain complete required records of all counseling sessions and client contact in accordance with DMH and ACCS standards.
  • Completion of outcome measures as required by EBP/DMH.
  • Work collaboratively with various systems, for example: DMH, DCFS, hospitals, and residential facilities.
  • Respect and adhere to the policies and procedures of the organization and be guided by professional rules of ethics and legal practices.
  • Actively participate in all required meetings, training, and other activities as directed.
  • Comply with HIPAA requirements of privacy and access of records.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor to meet programmatic, departmental, and agency needs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES

Education/Background:

  • Must be licensed (LMFT, LPCC, LCSW) with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) and be in good standing.
  • Spanish Speaking required.
  • Hybrid position – telehealth and must be able to go into the field if client needs it.

Other Requirements:

  • Previous experience in MAT programs and assessment.
  • Experience providing therapy to children and families and/or adults.
  • Experience working with multiethnic/racial communities.
  • Previous experience working in a community-based organization.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, especially Microsoft Teams).
  • Experience in report writing and meeting strict deadlines.
