Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Machinist to join our team specializing in automotive transmission components. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating, setting up, and programming CNC machines, including lathes mills and manual machining equipment, to manufacture high-precision transmission parts according to specifications. This role requires attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a strong understanding of machining processes in the automotive industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up, operate, and program CNC and manual machines to produce high-quality transmission components.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical documents specific to automotive transmissions.
  • Select and install appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and attachments for machining transmission parts.
  • Perform quality control checks using calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments to ensure accuracy.
  • Monitor machining processes and make necessary adjustments to maintain tight tolerances required for transmission components.
  • Troubleshoot machine issues and perform basic maintenance to keep equipment in optimal working condition.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area while following all safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with engineers and production teams to optimize manufacturing processes for automotive transmission parts.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in machining is preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working with CNC and manual lathe and milling machines.
  • Proficiency in G-code programming and CAD/CAM software.
  • Strong understanding of machining principles, cutting tools, and material properties specific to transmission components.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints and schematics related to automotive parts.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality control in high-precision manufacturing.
  • Physical ability to lift-up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods.
