Under general supervision performs work of moderate difficulty in research and data analysis utilized for fleet management to assist in maximizing the safety, reliability, and sustainability of the fleet operations; the role will have ownership of the reliability and accuracy of current and incoming Fleet data. performs related work as assigned.

• Performs research and analyzes data utilized in fleet management
• Writes specifications for purchases of equipment, supplies, and services
• Writes queries and prepares spreadsheets and charts tracking the costs associated with various fleet operations
• Reports findings and makes recommendations to management
• Prepares and maintains electronic and print files and records
• Estimates costs for repair and replacement of damaged vehicles
• Prepares statistical and management reports for a variety of assigned projects

Essential functions of this position include and not limited to: driving; working with and around others, co-workers, clients, agencies, etc.; working alone; dealing with interruptions; repetitive motion (hand/wrist) for computer input and driving; vision acuity (near/far); hearing and speech for ordinary conversation; touch/finger dexterity for computer work, visiting field sites and walking on uneven terrain.
Three years of experience in fleet operations, including one year in the public sector; OR, any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.

The ideal candidate will have considerable knowledge in data analysis, with some exposure to the Automotive and Heavy Equipment industry. Communication skills are essential for both internal and external customers and key to the performance of the entire team. Preferred Qualifications: One year experience in fleet operations in the public sector.

This position is non-exempt from overtime.

This position is safety sensitive.


• Considerable knowledge of:

- The use of data analysis in vehicle and equipment fleet management

- Techniques associated with fleet maintenance operations

- Principles and practices of competitive public sector purchasing, contracting and disposal operations

- The principles and practices of database operations and maintenance

- Standard office practices and procedures

• Some knowledge of:

- Principles and practices utilized in cost accounting

- Principles and practices utilized in life-cycle costing

• Skill in:

- Developing and writing bid specifications

- Effectively analyzing information

- Use of various software programs, including Excel, Word, and Access

- Reading and interpreting data

- Performing and verifying mathematical computations

• Ability to:

- Effectively plan and organize assignments

- Prepare and maintain records and reports

- Research and verify information

- Work safely and support the culture of workplace safety

- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other agencies and the public

- Follow written and verbal instructions

- Communicate effectively verbal and in writing
