Financial Accountant at Givaudan Sense Colour – Louisville, Kentucky

To support the Business Controller in executing financial and accounting duties, as well as performing financial analysis.

• Uphold DDW’s Mission Statement, Quality Policy, and Values and Beliefs.
• Assist with internal and external reporting.
• Support the month-end closing process, including:
  • Preparation of journal entries
  • Account reconciliations
  • Financial statement preparation
  • Communication of financial results
• Calculate and reconcile intercompany balances, including sales and balance sheet eliminations.
• Analyze capital expenditure spending and manage consolidated capital expenditure reporting across all locations.
• Oversee the insurance renewal process, including:
  • Consolidating submissions from plants
  • Maintaining policy documentation
  • Documenting open claims
• Maintain foreign exchange rates.
• Assist in Mid-Year and Full-Year Budget processes.
• Support annual audit and tax return processes by preparing necessary schedules and reports.
• Develop a thorough understanding of ERP software and other reporting tools.
• Prepare and update process documentation for various Finance functions.
• Collaborate with the IT department to troubleshoot financial system entries and assist in designing/testing internal productivity tools.

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Management
• 5-7 years of accounting experience; CPA preferred
• Excellent analytical skills
• Ability to condense complex data into executive summaries
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel
• Experience with JD Edwards/Oracle (preferred)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Demonstrated strong work ethic
