Job Description

Harrison House of Chester County is looking for an Executive Director for our Personal Care Facility. This is a critical role within the Harrison House community leadership team and allows for the opportunity to create a dramatic and positive impact on our residents' ability to live an active, vibrant life!

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Executive Director oversees the efficient, safe and effective day-to-day operations of the community and ensure that the community meets the expectations of its residents and the management company; develop, implement and evaluate the community's policies, operations, programs and services ensuring they contribute to the community's mission; develop and implement strategies for ongoing quality assurance and improvement efforts across all departments by monitoring for effectiveness including conducting resident surveys and making recommendations for improvement.
  • Regular communication with community's residents/families regarding community changes/updates; arbitrate complaints concerning residents and families that are unresolved at other levels; consider and evaluate suggestions from residents/families; explain lease/resident agreement and other legal forms to prospective new residents; develop and maintain an open relationship with residents through regular interaction and encourage and support residents with their involvement in the community
  • Executive Director will give input and implement the marketing plan and strategy for the community from pricing and product to media and message including customer retention and development; suggest changes to the marketing plan and strategies as necessary; assist in the positioning of the community's product and brand in the most effective way.
  • Represent the community to various agencies and corporations and act as spokesperson for the community; establish good working relationships and collaborative arrangements with community groups/organizations to help achieve the goals of the community.
  • Give input and manage the community's fiscal year budget including protection of the organization's assets; oversee financial aspects of the community's operations and conduct analysis of financial statements to ensure budgetary goals are met and adjust business practices as appropriate to improve outcome.
  • Supervise, motivate and mentor direct reporting leadership team members including prioritizing and scheduling work assignments and responsibilities; foster effective teamwork between the leadership team members and work with leadership team members to assure quality of services, develop team concepts and improve overall service; chair leadership team meetings to ensure appropriate opportunity for all to contribute, determine order of agenda, direct discussion towards consensus, clarify and sum up actions and policies; include leadership team in planning, decision making and process improvement; assess learning needs of the leadership team, plan and coordinate professional education and training to meet the needs of the leadership team for enhanced skills development.
  • Executive Director will assist in determining staffing requirements for the community to ensure program delivery; establish a positive, healthy and safe work environment in accordance with all appropriate legislation and regulations; participate in staff meetings to communicate strategic plan, goals, vision and policies/procedures to community employee; available to staff for discussion of concerns, questions, suggestions and arbitrate complaints concerning staff that are unresolved at the lower level; provide motivation and leadership to employees and encourage a professional, positive attitude among staff by being a role model in conduct, appearance, communication, mutual respect and ethical behavior and decision making.
  • Executive Director will manage overall aspects of community staff regarding hiring and termination of community staff, performance evaluation process and guidelines, rewarding and disciplining employees and apply management approved employee policies and benefits.
  • Identify and evaluate risks to the community's image, residents, staff, property and finances and implement measures to control risks; ensure the physical community is maintained in an effective and efficient manner and communicate any concerns to the management company.
  • Appropriate state License for Personal Care
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Proven success in business operations with noted abilities to lead teams to established goals.
  • Minimum 3 years previous administrative experience
