Sample Technician at Macon Water Authority – Macon, Georgia

Job Summary:

Collect samples from various locations, perform routine equipment and laboratory maintenance, and perform field and laboratory tests.

Responsibilities:

• Collect samples from wastewater plants, industrial sites, and environmental sites and log them into the Laboratory Information Management System.
• Perform routine maintenance of equipment and laboratory.
• Perform tests such as pH, temperature, and dissolved oxygen.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Experience with water and wastewater sampling preferred.
• Experience with entering information into computers.
• Valid GA driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Physical Requirements:

• Able to work outside in all weather conditions.
• Frequent walking, standing, stooping
• Ability to carry up to 25 pounds and occasionally over 50 pounds
• Occasional sitting, crawling, crouching, climbing, and balancing.
• Ability to grasp and hold.
