We’re looking for awesome people to join our team as People Resource Coach - CONNECT Saanich, a brand-new location for CONNECT. As a guest on the traditional land of the W̱SÁNEĆ people, located on the Tsawout First Nation, you will have the important job of representing CONNECT and building strong community relationships as a good neighbour, partner and friend, so we walk this important journey together.

JOB SUMMARY:

Brain injury is unpredictable but full of possibility. Part of CONNECT’s Coaching Resource Team, People Resource Coaches help our team navigate what comes up, search for solutions, and keep everyone talking and on the same page. They are part of the glue that holds our many moving parts together.

People Resource Coaches are go-to people for all things related to our people and services. They are keepers of our CONNECT culture. With an eye on quality they help promote a workplace culture of safety, support, inclusion, empowerment, engagement, collaboration and partnership with residents and their families as they work towards their life redesign.

REPORTS TO: Leader – CONNECT Hamilton

JOB REQUIREMENTS & COMPETENCIES:

  • Shares our values and believes in our service philosophy with a good understanding of the strengths and qualities that make for a great fit with our culture and the needs of the people we serve;
  • Flexible, adaptable, creative, and resourceful, able to competently manage multiple, often competing priorities while maintaining a sense of perspective and fun;
  • Skillful communicators, able to handle sensitive, private or confidential information and situations with tact, diplomacy and discretion;
  • Work well on their own and as part of a team;
  • Computer savvy, comfortable using computer-based software and other IT tools, championing others to do the same;

KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Encourage and support employees to be the best they can be using our policies and processes to help guide the way;
  • Checking in to make sure people have what they need so that everyone can do their jobs well, and whether living or working, have the best experience of CONNECT possible;
  • Be a coach, mentor and role model for all;
  • Support people through difficult moments;
  • Help them navigate systems and processes, and to rectify mistakes when they happen;
  • Help people feel valued by listening to what’s important to them and by bringing their concerns forwards;
  • Overseeing employees’ work schedules and resident support needs to ensure there is a fit;
  • Working knowledge of our workplace standards including accreditation, licensing, employment and workplace safety.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Flexible with an on-call component

PERFORMANCE DEVELOPMENT & REVIEW

CONNECT offers a program of continuous learning activities as well as funding for conferences, workshops and courses. Requests for consideration go to the site Leader.
