About This Position
OBJECTIVE AND POSITION SUMMARY
Provides the Associate Director of Family Empowerment with support and assistance in the oversight of Family Empowerment projects, grants, program alignment initiatives, gathering of data for reporting, data entry as needed, supervision of Adult Education initiatives and overall liaison for the Family Empowerment as needed with community stakeholders. This is a community-based services role with equal administrative duties as direct-service needs as needed and dependent of program grants and efforts. The ideal candidate has exceptional time management and organizational skills, is a self-starter, takes initiative to eliminate service gaps and is flexible in a changing environment. They can work well with diverse populations and lead a team to ensure program goals and deliverables are met. Role also requires the overview of implementation of grant deliverables and ensuring program operations have adequate staffing and coverage. Work requires the application of initiative and independent judgment within the framework of task at hand. Must be available to meet the needs of the community: this will require working some evenings and some weekends to accommodate youth and family needs which are generally pre-scheduled. This is a hybrid work position with 1-2 days working from home and the additional days at a program site location as programming allows.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervises a team of community service programs and ensures program coverage and staffing, at times steps in to ensure program coverage as needed
- Oversees operational services for youth and family empowerment programs
- Ensures program staff and operations adhere to program grants and contract deliverables

PRIMARY DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Conduct support for Family Empowerment programs
- Assist in the preparation and submittal of reports for Family Empowerment programs
- Coordinate activities, including planning and implementation, participate in youth activities, cultural events, community events, and promotional efforts
- Work closely with program staff, community partners and sister CPLC programs including familiarization with our holistic approaches and curriculums for youth and family services (the Nahui Ollin approach) with an Indigenous culturally competent lenses for group facilitations
- Function as a liaison for parents in accessing resources and information regarding youth development and identify students and families for referral to agencies
- Assist in community outreach, community presentations and events
- Works closely with youth and families in the target area
- Work as a team member in carrying out day to day programming at community level with youth and families in participating in activities as needed or assigned by Director of Family Empowerment
- Work closely with Director/Grants team for submittal of grants
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date enrollment forms, attendance records, pre and post questionnaires and service referral records on all youth and adults in program(s)
- Establish linkages/partnerships with agencies and service providers in the community including school stakeholders.
- Conduct data entry & resource facilitation
- Help build informal support networks
- Conduct scheduled team meetings as needed
- Oversee special initiatives as assigned
- Employee will be expected to participate in continuous learning, competency building and maintenance of competency skills
- Complete 20 hours of training for professional development per year including any grant training requirements
- Perform any additional duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES
Education /Background:
- Bachelor’s degree in social or behavioral science, child and family studies related, prevention, administrative supervisory skills or closely related field preferred
- Plus 2 years’ experience in education or related field and/or combination with 2 years leading/supervising projects and teams in lieu of education requirement
- Ideal candidate will have community-based services background, working directly with youth, adults or families, understanding of human service referrals and cognizant with the cultural diversity of the target population
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required
- Bilingual in English and Spanish required

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS
Position Requirements: This position is both a mobile and a sedentary position with periods of light physical activity and is performed mostly in office surroundings. Positions typical in nature require regular walking or standing; sitting, lifting, and carrying up to 50 pounds; climbing stairs, bending, reaching, holding, grasping and turning objects; and using fingers to operate computer keyboards. This position will require the ability to speak normally and to use normal or aided vision and hearing.
Travel: Local, interstate and intrastate travel to Chicanos Por La Causa, Inc., its affiliates and/or subsidiaries, will be necessary to successfully fulfill the duties of this position. Candidate must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and auto insurance. Technology will be utilized to minimize travel whenever feasible. The travel requirements for this position are anticipated to be 25 to 35 percent assignment depending. Overnight travel must be approved in advance by the Department VP.
Hybrid: Position will be performed in a hybrid capacity (25% from home, 75% in office), however, employee must be available to participate in campus, community-based and corporate activities, as needed.
