About the role:

FFH is seeking a dedicated and experienced Logistics Manager – Transportation, to join our Madison, WI team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for overseeing the transportation and distribution of perishable goods, ensuring they reach their destinations efficiently, safely and in compliance with all relevant regulations. The ideal candidate will focus on improving our freight and transportation program by optimizing of our logistics operations, meeting business targets and maintaining customer satisfaction.

You’ll get to:

  • Track shipments and monitor real-time data for on-time deliveries and coordination of products
  • Provide regular reports on transportation performance, including delivery times, costs and any issues that arise
  • Address delays, damage, or losses that occur during transportation and find quick solutions that reduce the impact on operations
  • Work closely with sales, production and customer service to make sure transportation aligns with customer orders and production schedules
  • Manage relationships with vendors to ensure service levels meet expectations
  • Ensure compliance with Food Safety (USDA and FDA) regulations and transportation related regulations
  • Complete customs documents accurately
  • Align co-manufacturers and maritime providers, ensuring timely pickups for overseas shipments
  • Develop and track KPI’s for goal attainment and continuous improvement

Must-haves:

  • Minimum 5 years in Transportation and Logistics
  • Ability to oversee logistics projects, including scheduling, budgeting and coordinating cross functionally
  • Ability to interpret logistics data, leveraging ERP and MS Excel for forecasting, reporting and decision-making
  • Experience in Transportation Compliance Management
  • Strong written and verbal communication for coordinating with suppliers, vendors and internal teams
  • Experience negotiating with vendors and suppliers for cost savings or service optimization
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on reliability, accuracy and efficiency
  • Strong organizational skills, ensuring all customers receive their products on-time
  • Ability to coordinate freight efficiently and within budget

How you differentiate yourself:

  • Working knowledge of global logistics
  • NetSuite ERP experience
  • Food and Beverage Industry experience
  • Experience in Fleet Management and DOT compliance
