About This Position
As an Assistant Project Manager, you are responsible for supporting the Project Manager in the day-to-day project execution. This position can be based out of any O'Brien offices, including Portland area or Coast.
Main Role & Responsibilities:
- Assist the Project Manager with Owner and Subcontractor contract administration.
- Perform Project Administration duties including Document Control in multiple software applications, filing sharing programs and digital communication platforms.
- Coordinate submittals, RFIs, As-Builts, Safety reports and closeout documentation.
- Work in Scheduling program and understand workflow to identify proactive planning.
- Record meeting minutes, manage recaps, next steps and checks for accuracy in documented action plans.
- Assist with tracking costs, pay applications and change order management.
- Ensure contractor compliance with owner and general contractor liability insurance.
- Support project quality control and successful project warranty and customer service.
- Utilize technology such as Open Spaces to capture project daily operations and identify efficiency opportunities and challenges.
- Act as a communication hub between internal departments and external partners related to the project team.
- Preferred to have at least 2 years of experience working as a Project Engineer in construction/related educational background
- Familiarity with varied project types and technical construction operations preferred
- Shall at all times demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues, supervisors and public in a professional manner
- Experience in Vista/Viewpoint/Trimble Project Management software (or similar) preferred
- Ability to report to jobsites when needed is preferred
- Creative problem solving and excellent communication skills
- Must be detail oriented and organized
- Desire to advance career in Construction Management fields
