Industrial Engineering Technician/Estimator at Weber Knapp Company – Jamestown, New York

Job Summary: Preparation of Cost Estimates and Engineering Documentation for New and Revised Products.

Function of Position:

• Gather/Calculate all estimating data for Sales Cost Requests
• Submit RFQ’s to Purchasing Department for new or modified materials.
• Obtain and Review Tooling Quotes from Manufacturing/Tool Engineers
• Input of proposed manufacturing methods into ERP Estimating/Quoting Module
• Writing Engineering Orders for new products and changes to existing products
• Input of approved BOM and Routing updates to ERP system.
• Preparation of detailed Process Work Instructions
• Production print generation and revisions using Solidworks.
• Participate in weekly Sales/Engineering Cost/Design Review Meeting

Additional Tasks may include

• Motion and Time Study for Process Rate Determination
• Actual cost versus estimated cost audits

Ideal Skills:

• Proficiency using SOLIDWORKS and AutoCAD preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word, or related software.
• Solid mechanical aptitude.
• Exposure to Lean Manufacturing Methods.
• Ability to communicate and work with people at all levels of the office and factory floor.

Required Qualifications :

• Education – Two-year technical or financial degree preferred. Equivalent experience considered.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
