About This Position
Overview
Responsibilities
Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program; Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists; A valid Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist license issued by the Oregon Board of Medical imaging; OHSU approved Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Two years of experience in the operation of radiologic equipment or an equivalent combination of specialized training and experience. Qualifications
- Assists physician during cases while operating a variety of complex radiologic imaging equipment including fluoroscopy, digital subtraction angiography, ultrasonography and cone beam CT application within the Interventional Radiologic suite.
- Prep the patient and prepare supplies under sterile conditions for the procedure. Scrub in with the physician and assist in performing procedure if needed.
- Accurately obtains x-rays for the exams while being respectful to the patient’s abilities and safety issues.
- Operates automatic injectors and selects the appropriate contrast agent for the patient and the exam under the direction of the Interventionalist.
- In collaboration with other staff, provides patient care during examinations.
- Responsible for equipment maintenance and use including, but not limited to, recognizing, troubleshooting, reporting, and documenting equipment malfunctions along with coordinating borrowing equipment from other departments.
- Cross train to another service area (CCL, EP, Hybrid OR, Endoscopy, etc.)
- Work independently on-call with department physicians and nurse.
Responsibilities
- 2+ years of experience as an IR technologist supporting complex body and neuro interventional radiology procedures. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Cardiac Interventional and/or Vascular Interventional certification from ASRT
- Proven IR technologist knowledge, skills, and abilities.
