Staff Accountant
Staff AccountantLocation: Broomall, PA Onsite (full-time)Compensation: $65,000 $75,000
Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our growing team. This role is fully onsite and offers the opportunity to work closely with leadership, including the Controller and CFO, on a variety of accounting and financial functions. The Staff Accountant will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting compliance, and ensuring the overall integrity of the organizations financial data.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting- Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.- Apply GAAP principles to ensure accuracy and compliance.- Manage adjusting entries, depreciation, and amortization schedules.- General Ledger Management- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.- Ensure all financial transactions are accurately recorded.Reconciliations
- Perform bank and account reconciliations regularly.- Research and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
Compliance & Controls
- Manage state permits and sales tax registrations.- Assist with filing monthly sales tax returns.- Stay current on changes in accounting and tax laws.
Additional Responsibilities
- Prepare commission schedules for the sales team.- Support Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable as needed.- Assist with periodic physical inventory checks and adjustments.- Generate ad-hoc reports and provide financial analysis as requested.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Accounting or related field (preferred) or equivalent experience.- 35 years of progressive accounting or finance experience.- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial accounting principles.- Proficiency with accounting software, ERP systems, and advanced Excel skills.- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities.- Knowledge of job costing concepts (preferred).- Understanding of relevant tax laws and regulations.- Ability to handle sensitive financial data with discretion.
