About This Position

Pay Grade: Manager 7

The Director of Accreditation and Compliance ensures that the college maintains its eligibility for financial and other benefits associated with higher education institutions by meeting federal requirements, national authorizations, regional accreditation standards, state regulations, North Carolina Community College System codes and procedures, generally accepted quality assurance practices, and its own policies.

* Takes primary and direct responsibility for the college’s compliance with federal regulations, national authorizations, state regulations, North Carolina Community College System code, and standards related to regional accreditation.

*Proactively monitors changes in federal, state and accreditation regulations and requirements and recommends action to address them at the college at the time they occur.

*Submits various vital reports, notifications and documentation in a timely manner to accreditors, state agencies and federal agencies , ensuring information is accurate and timely.

*Takes primary and direct responsibility for the college’s policy and procedures process, including policy development, revision and approval.

*Manages accreditation and compliance processes by coordinating employees, documentation, deliverables, and events, proactively making recommendations on how to make them more efficient and effective.

*Develops and implements effective systems for tracking and ensuring compliance and submission of all required accreditation and compliance documentation across the institution, including academic program changes.

*Works with all areas of the college to develop and implement processes that ensures key administrators and faculty members are qualified in accordance with federal, state and accreditation regulations.

Oversees the development, organization and maintenance of information resources that support the college’s accreditation, accountability, compliance.

Hires, trains, evaluates employees as assigned.

Attends, develops and delivers training, as needed, regarding accreditation and compliance

Researches best practices, including benchmarking other institutions, to improve accreditation and compliance processes and makes recommendations on the best course of action within the context of the college’s mission, programs and services.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Ability to work effectively with key campus positions though local, auxiliary supervision without formal chain of command

Excellent diplomatic, negotiation, and collaboration skills

Excellent written and oral communication skills, including public speaking

Proficiency in research, information curation, and data analysis used for decision making.

Intermediate proficiency with office software

Demonstrated proficiency in using technology platforms associated with accreditation and compliance, as well as student information systems

Excellent project management, organization, and time management skills

Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with faculty, staff, and administrators, maintaining good working relationships across the college

Ability work through ambiguity with excellent problem-solving skills

Ability to work under minimal supervision and manage multiple priorities

Ability to handle confidential information with discretion


Minimum Requirements

Master’s Degree

Five years of experience in institutional effectiveness and research functions including program review,, substantive change, faculty credentialing, policy development and review, and reaffirmation processes or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Demonstrated experience and fluency in data analysis and reporting.


Preferences

Master’s degree or higher in education, higher education, or other relevant discipline

Demonstrated success in meeting higher education accreditation standards

Five years of progressive leadership experience in in a community college

Experience analyzing and interpreting data
