EXAMPLES OF DUTIES FOR PART-TIME FACULTY:

Teach course(s) in American Sign Language/English Interpreting or Deaf Studies.

Teach in online, hybrid, or face-to-face formats.

Develop syllabi and instructional materials.

Assess student performance.

Provide assistance and mentorship to students.
Job Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Master's degree in a related field. Bachelor's degree candidates with teaching experience may be considered.

Evidence of expertise, scholarly activity, or creative work appropriate to the discipline.

Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and antiracism in the curriculum and the classroom.

Candidates teaching ASL must have two years of university-level teaching experience and a national interpreting credential; Deaf candidates can submit a portfolio demonstrating skills and experience equivalent to national certification.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- PhD or other terminal degree in related field.
- Successful college teaching experience.
Additional Information:
This posting is for potential part-time, non-benefited, day program faculty positions in the World Languages Department. The current salary rate for a typical lecture course (4 contact hours) taught by a new part-time faculty member in the day program is $6,535.44, paid through bi-weekly payroll direct deposit. Rates may vary for other course types based on contact hour equivalencies.
