CNC Lathe Set-Up Operator at Wisconsin Metal Parts LLC – Waukesha, Wisconsin

Our growing team is looking for skilled Lathe Machnist to join our team on 2nd shift!

Full time; Monday-Thursday or Monday-Friday schedules available.

Position Responsible for:

• Setting up running low and high volume lathe work in single and dual spindle lathe cells,
• Assist with proving out new part set-ups and troubleshooting as needed
• Assist operator level employees to provide guidance or routine training as needed in areas of production proficiency, quality/inspection, or general machining applications/best practices
• Maintaining production rate/speed consistently across wide variety of work
• Reading blueprints and complete part inspection and quality processes as required per part
• Perform part production operations as needed to support division scheduling/workload
• Performing routine daily machine & cell maintenance

Preferred & Required Qualifications:

• 1 or more years prior experience setting up, operating CNC lathes in a job shop environment
• Some experience with live tooling preferred but not necessarily required
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge, application, and interpretation of machining principles, best practices, and tooling applications
• Strong blueprint reading, and inspection skills
• Proficient working knowledge of G&M Codes
• Able to edit programs at the machine or in CAM programming software as needed
• Proficient knowledge of G&M Codes
• Ability to lift raw material or finished goods up to 35 pounds; stand for up to 8-10 hours per day with minimal break periods
