This role formulates partnerships across all People & Culture functions in efforts to deliver value-added services that reflect the business objectives. The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding and working experience of the full-cycle employee journey with an emphasis on employee relations, and a strong customer-centric focus.

This is a full-time, hybrid opportunity reporting to the VP, People & Culture and is based in Hollywood, CA. The targeted pay for this role in California is between $75,000 to $95,000.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a sound partner to our people leaders and provide guidance on common employee relations matters, including participating in performance management discussions, conflict resolution, and policy interpretation.
  • Influence decision-making by balancing people-first thinking with business outcomes.
  • Own key moments across the employee lifecycle (onboarding, benefits, LOA, employee relations).
  • Provide meaningful and authentic coaching and guidance through employee relations, feedback, and development conversations.
  • Support recruiting efforts and deliver a strong, high-touch candidate experience, and facilitate the overall candidate journey.
  • Actively contribute to building a high-performance and growth-oriented culture by partnering with leaders to drive team effectiveness, engagement, and performance.
  • Maintain policies and procedures; regularly review content to ensure relevancy and make recommendations on revisions, as needed.
  • Prepare concise communications to deliver updates on People Operations program changes or launches while ensuring a consistent, reader centric voice.
  • Manage standard and recurring compliance obligations, such as 5500 filing, EEO-1 filing, California Pay Data reporting and industry-specific audits.
  • Participate in key People Operations projects and implementation, including RFP, SOW, vendor management.
  • Oversee workers' compensation claims and renewal process.
  • Act as a backup for payroll support when necessary.
  • Keep abreast of industry best practices or industry trends and make recommendations to leadership.
  • Perform other tasks as needed.

At First Entertainment, your role and every role are essential to our Mission [We build lifelong financial relationships with the people in entertainment based on a deep understanding of how they live and work], Core Values [Members First + Ownership + Integrity + Innovation + Inclusivity + One Team], and we expect you to uphold them.
