Job Title: Marine Service Technician

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Marine Service Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of marine vessels and equipment, including engines, propulsion systems, steering systems, electrical systems, and onboard amenities. This position requires technical expertise, strong problem-solving skills, and a commitment to safety and quality service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair inboard and outboard engines, diesel engines, and other propulsion systems.
• Perform routine maintenance and service on boats and marine equipment (oil changes, tune-ups, fuel system service, etc.).
• Install, troubleshoot, and repair
• Haul and launch boats, including operation of forklifts, trailers, and other heavy equipment as needed.
• Perform hull inspections and minor fiberglass or gel coat repairs.
• Complete work orders and service reports accurately and timely.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment and follow all safety protocols.
• Communicate with customers about service needs and updates in a professional manner.
• Stay current on marine technology, repair techniques, and product information.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade school certification is a plus.
• 2+ years of experience in marine service or mechanical repair.
• Strong knowledge of marine engine systems (gasoline and diesel), electrical systems, and boat construction.
• Proficient in reading schematics and using diagnostic tools.
• Ability to lift heavy objects (50+ lbs), work in confined spaces, and operate power tools safely.
• Valid driver's license; ability to operate boats and trailers is preferred.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

Working Conditions:

• Work is performed in both indoor and outdoor environments, often near or on the water.
• Exposure to noise, fumes, weather, and moving machinery.
• May involve weekend or overtime hours during peak seasons.

Job Type: Full-time

Location: Fort Lauderdale, Florida
Salary: $20 - $30 per hour
