About the Facility

Isuzu North America Corporation is investing approximately $280 million to establish a new production facility in Greenville County, South Carolina.

This 1 million-square-foot, state-of-the-art manufacturing plant, situated on more than 200 acres, will feature a flexible production line capable of producing both internal combustion and electric vehicles.

Position Summary

The Material Parts Planner is responsible for planning, monitoring, and coordinating material availability to support production schedules and ensure uninterrupted manufacturing operations.

This role manages material requirements, tracks inventory levels, supports supplier coordination efforts, and ensures parts are available to meet production demand and operational objectives.

The Material Parts Planner works closely with Production Control Scheduling, Logistics, Purchasing, Warehouse Operations, and Isuzu suppliers to support efficient material flow, minimize shortages, and maintain accurate planning and inventory data within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

QualificationsRequired Education
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field preferred
Experience
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in:
    • Material Planning
    • Production Control
    • Logistics
    • Supply Chain
    • Manufacturing Operations
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems required (SAP preferred)
  • Experience supporting inventory control, production scheduling, or supplier coordination preferred
  • Automotive manufacturing experience preferred
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Material planning
    • Inventory control
    • Production support processes
  • Ability to analyze:
    • Inventory levels
    • Production schedules
    • Material requirements
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to identify, communicate, and escalate material shortages and production risks
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Outlook
  • Experience using ERP/MRP systems and inventory management tools
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles, 5S methodology, and standard work practices preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
Key ResponsibilitiesMaterial Planning & Inventory Management
  • Plan and monitor material requirements to support daily and weekly production schedules
  • Review production schedules, inventory levels, and supplier delivery status to ensure material availability
  • Monitor inventory levels and analyze material usage trends to support accurate planning and inventory control
  • Maintain accurate material planning data, inventory records, and system transactions within SAP
Supplier & Logistics Coordination
  • Coordinate with Purchasing, Logistics, Warehouse Operations, and suppliers regarding shortages, delivery schedules, and material-related concerns
  • Support material ordering activities, scheduling adjustments, and recovery plans to minimize production disruptions
  • Coordinate with external logistics providers, warehouse teams, and kitting operations to support line-side material readiness
Production Support
  • Track and escalate material shortages, delayed shipments, quality holds, and supply chain risks affecting production schedules
  • Support engineering changes, new model launches, startup activities, and production ramp-up requirements
  • Prepare reports and communicate material status, shortages, and operational risks to management and cross-functional teams
Continuous Improvement & Compliance
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on:
    • Inventory accuracy
    • Material flow optimization
    • Production efficiency
  • Promote adherence to safety procedures, standard work practices, inventory control processes, and operational guidelines
  • Support 5S and Lean Manufacturing initiatives within Material Planning and Production Control operations
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of departmental and organizational objectives
