Position Summary
The Data Package Technician is responsible for preparing and executing customer data packages in accordance with purchase order and specification requirements. Working within the QA team, the Technician compiles and reviews production travelers, inspection records, and test reports for completeness and accuracy, identifies discrepancies, and assembles compliant data packages for on-time delivery. This role requires close attention to detail, adherence to standard operating procedures, and clear communication of quality issues to the supervisor.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Prepare and compile customer data packages in accordance with purchase order and specification requirements, using a computer and standard software applications.
- Review production travelers, inspection records, test reports, and related documentation for completeness, accuracy, and compliance prior to inclusion in the data package.
- Identify errors, discrepancies, or possible issues in specifications, tolerances, or test data, and verify that all required records are present and correct.
- Scan, copy, and organize documentation, and assemble data packages using Microsoft Office and related software.
- Interpret purchase orders, customer specifications, quality clauses, and quality notes to ensure data packages meet all applicable requirements.
- Escalate quality issues, specification questions, and documentation discrepancies to the supervisor through clear verbal and written communication, and assist in identifying variables and offering resolution.
- Maintain accurate records and follow standard operating procedures and work instructions governing data package preparation.
- Support on-time delivery of data packages by managing multiple assignments against purchase order due dates and customer commitments.
- Adhere to AEM safety protocols and support Company compliance with all applicable regulatory and customer-quality standards, including ISO, AS9100, and OSHA.
- Perform other related duties as assigned. This position may require weekends or overtime; hours and shifts are subject to change based on business needs.

Requirements:Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year of related QA, data package, or quality documentation experience.
- Excellent communication in English, both verbal and written.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as purchase orders, customer specifications, quality notes, quality clauses, inspection records, and test reports.
- Ability to write clearly (e.g., memos, reports, e-mails) and document findings accurately.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook; familiarity with ERP/MRP systems a plus.
- Ability to follow standard operating procedures, work in a fast-paced environment, multi-task efficiently, and deal with problems involving several variables.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous work experience in manufacturing and/or the aerospace industry preferred.
- 2 years of education or training beyond the high school level, or 2 years of additional hands-on experience in lieu of education or training beyond the high school level.
- Prior experience preparing data packages in an ISO 9001 or AS9100 certified manufacturing environment.
