Laundry Room Student Attendant in Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania at Elizabethtown College

The laundry room attendant position is an on-campus job that requires students to wash athletics teams' practice clothing, uniforms, towels, and other miscellaneous items and hang/dry items appropriately.

Other information:

• Attendant will be working in one of our two laundry areas, either Thompson Gymnasium or Bower's Center.
• Attendant may NOT exceed 4 hours of work at a time. NO EXCEPTIONS.
• While the laundry is washing, attendants are expected to sit in designated areas until the cycle finishes.
• Once the washing cycle is finished, hang all uniforms on hangers and/or place other items in the dryer.
• Label bins with the CLEAN/DIRTY SIGNS in BOWERS.
• Attendant is to keep the laundry spaces clean and tidy (no random socks/hangers laying on the floor)
• Attendants are expected to notify supervisors when the detergent gallon buckets are getting low/empty so they can be replaced BEFORE they run out.

Laundry Room Attendant Requirements/Expectations for Position:

Availability - You have to be PRESENT for this position so your availability matters. When doing laundry you have to be available for up to 4 hours at a time. Please send supervisors your semester schedule.

**This DOES NOT guarantee your hiring but allows supervisors to see whose schedule is most compatible with this position for the semester**

Typical wash times throughout the day:

• Early morning(7-10 AM)
• Late Night (6:30-10:30 PM)
• Weekend(10AM-2PM / 4-8PM)

Reliability - You MUST show up for your scheduled shift. If for some reason you cannot cover your scheduled shift, YOU have to find replacement coverage with another student-worker because the laundry MUST be done.

Our athletics teams all need their uniforms/practice clothes ready to go for their next practice or event so their items have to be cleaned and ready to go. Failure to find coverage for your shift will result in a warning and if repeated offense occurs, termination.

Designated Areas -

If you work in THOMPSON GYMNASIUM the designated area(s) you are expected to be in are:

1. The Jaywalk
2. The Kyle Conrad Team Room (key card access granted if hired)

**If you are working in Thompson Gymnasium, you will also be responsible for making sure ALL of the gym doors are LOCKED before departing the area for the evening. If there are people in the gym, you are expected to provide them with a warning that you will be locking up 10 minutes before your shift is over.**

If you work in BOWERS CENTER the designated area you are expected to be in is:

1. The lounge area down stairs (during the week)
2. The lounge area UPSTAIRS (on the weekend)
