Job Description
What you need to know about this position:
- Round-the-clock department servicing every area of patient care within the hospital with more than 45 dynamic workers consisting of pharmacists and pharmacy technicians.
- Completes assigned learning experience and residency curriculum under the direction of the Residency Coordinator and the direct supervision of each learning experience preceptor; is responsible for assisting in all aspects of clinical drug monitoring, drug distribution, and drug education; functions as a licensed staff pharmacist during assigned weekend and evening shifts.
- All technicians are nationally certified, or will obtain certification within one year of hire.
- The Pharmacy Resident position has a base hourly rate of $19.84. Individual compensation is determined for this position through years of directly relevant experience. The hourly compensation is only a portion of the total rewards package, and a comprehensive benefits program is available for qualifying positions.
- This position will require you to work 40 hours a week, 7:00am-3:30pm, with a holiday and weekend rotation.
What is required for this position:
- Pharmacy degree from an accredited college or university program equivalent; two to four years related experience and/or training preferred but not required
- Indiana Pharmacist License required, to be obtained by August 1 of residency year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred
- Advance Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry
- Must be able to reach and interpret all physicians’ orders
