Sales and Catering - On-site Position


Position Summary

The Catering Sales and Event Coordinator is responsible for executing local marketing initiatives that drive restaurant traffic, increase catering sales, promote private dining room, enhance brand awareness, and support the successful coordination of all catering events.

This position serves as the restaurant's primary local marketing and catering ambassador, partnering with restaurant leadership and the Catering Support Center to identify business opportunities, build community relationships, promote restaurant offerings, and support sales growth. The role also partners with the General Manager to ensure catering events are properly staffed and executed with a focus on delivering 100% guest satisfaction.

The ideal candidate is energetic, self-motivated, highly organized, and passionate about building relationships both within the restaurant and throughout the local community.

Key Responsibilities

Community Engagement & Relationship Building

• Develop and maintain relationships with local businesses, schools, community organizations, chambers of commerce, sports teams, hotels, and other potential partners.

• Conduct business-to-business (B2B) prospecting through in-person visits, phone calls and networking to generate sales opportunities and catering leads.

• Represent the restaurant at community events, networking functions, and promotional activities including:

  • Taste-of events
  • Chamber of Commerce functions
  • Sporting events
  • School and community events
  • Grand openings and promotional activations
  • Catering events

Local Restaurant Marketing Execution

• Execute and track local marketing initiatives designed to drive dine-in, takeout, online ordering, catering, and special promotional sales.

• Ensure all in-restaurant marketing materials, signage, and point-of-purchase (POP) displays are current, visible, and aligned with brand standards.

• Assist in promoting restaurant programs including catering, private dining room, happy hour, daily specials, and other strategic initiatives.

• Support efforts to strengthen brand awareness and increase customer engagement within the local market.

Catering & Event Support

• Assist with the planning, setup, execution, and breakdown of catering and private dining room events.

• Coordinate and communicate catering and Private Dining Room event details with restaurant management and team members.

• Assist management with assigning catering and private dining room events and training catering team members.

• Ensure catering equipment, supplies, and vehicles are maintained, stocked, and organized.

• Support the delivery of exceptional guest experiences at all catering events.

Communication & Collaboration

• Serve as a key communication link between restaurant management, team members, and the Catering Support Center.

• Keep management informed of marketing activities, event outcomes, sales opportunities, and community partnerships.

• Participate in monthly meeting with General Manager and Catering Support Center to review marketing performance, discuss opportunities, and plan future initiatives.

• Maintain accurate records of marketing activities, prospecting efforts, catering leads, and event results.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

• Previous sales, marketing, hospitality, restaurant, catering, or customer service experience preferred.

• Outgoing, positive, and professional personality with strong interpersonal skills.

• Passion for networking and developing relationships within the local community.

• Strong organizational, planning, and time-management skills.

• Ability to prioritize tasks and successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while contributing as part of a team.

• Flexible schedule availability, including evenings, weekends, and special events as needed.

• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record

• Current personal vehicle liability insurance as personal vehicle use is required.
