The Banking Fraud Operations Team Lead is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of the fraud operations team within a financial institution. This role focuses on managing fraud detection, investigation, and prevention processes to safeguard the bank’s assets and maintain customer trust. The Team Lead will ensure compliance with regulatory standards, foster a culture of vigilance, and drive continuous improvement in fraud operations.

Key Responsibilities:

· Lead, supervise, and mentor a team of fraud analysts and investigators, ensuring optimal performance and professional development.

· Coordinate and monitor daily fraud detection and investigation activities, prioritizing cases based on severity and impact.

· Develop, implement, and refine fraud prevention strategies, workflows, and policies to minimize risks and losses.

· Review and analyze fraud trends, patterns, and data to proactively identify emerging threats and vulnerabilities.

· Collaborate with other departments, such as compliance, risk management, and IT, to address fraud-related issues and ensure cross-functional alignment.

· Prepare and present regular reports on fraud cases, operational metrics, and team performance to senior management.

· Ensure all operations adhere to regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal guidelines.

· Provide guidance and training to team members on best practices, investigative techniques, and new technologies.

· Handle escalated fraud cases and support complex investigations as needed.

· Drive process improvements and implement new tools or technologies to enhance fraud detection capabilities.

Requirements:

· Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, criminal justice, or a related field; advanced degree or certifications (e.g., CFE) are a plus.

· Minimum of 5 years’ experience in banking fraud operations, with at least 2 years in a team leadership or supervisory role.

· Strong knowledge of fraud detection methods, investigation procedures, and regulatory standards relevant to banking.

· Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

· Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly.

· Proficiency in relevant software, data analysis tools, and case management systems.

· Ability to manage multiple priorities, work under pressure, and maintain confidentiality.

· Demonstrated leadership, interpersonal, and team-building skills.

Work Location Requirement This position is designated as remote; however, if you reside within a 50-mile radius of one of our office locations, the role will be considered in-office and not eligible for remote work.
