Job Description

SEO Strategist

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a SEO Strategist based in Canada.

This is a strategic, client-facing SEO role focused on helping fast-growing B2B SaaS businesses achieve measurable organic growth.
You will act as a trusted advisor, translating complex SEO insights into clear recommendations that support pipeline, revenue, and broader business goals.
The role combines strategic leadership, senior stakeholder communication, client success, and technical SEO expertise.
You will manage a portfolio of 3–5 clients while shaping strategies across technical SEO, content, analytics, conversion funnels, and emerging AI-driven search.
Success requires strong commercial judgment, confidence in client conversations, and the ability to turn data into compelling stories and actionable priorities.
You will work within a highly collaborative environment that values ownership, continuous learning, strategic thinking, and innovation.
The position also offers significant opportunities to deepen your expertise while working with ambitious SaaS businesses and experienced SEO professionals.

Accountabilities
  • Develop comprehensive SEO strategies aligned with B2B SaaS business objectives, connecting organic search initiatives to pipeline, revenue, retention, and conversion goals.
  • Manage a portfolio of 3–5 B2B SaaS clients and serve as a strategic advisor to senior marketing, demand generation, product marketing, and executive stakeholders.
  • Lead monthly and quarterly business reviews, strategic planning sessions, client calls, and senior-level conversations with confidence and clarity.
  • Translate rankings, traffic, conversion, pipeline, and other performance signals into concise recommendations, clear priorities, and actionable next steps.
  • Create and present performance narratives that explain results, opportunities, risks, tradeoffs, and recommended actions in language that non-technical stakeholders can understand.
  • Proactively identify client risks, blockers, growth opportunities, and strategic priorities before they become issues.
  • Own client follow-through by ensuring recommendations result in clearly defined actions, owners, priorities, and timelines.
  • Guide technical SEO implementation and optimization across technical, content, authority-building, and conversion-focused initiatives.
  • Integrate GA4, GTM, and modern SEO and reporting tools to generate meaningful performance insights and improve decision-making.
  • Recommend advanced schema markup strategies and prioritize SEO initiatives according to business impact, effort, client context, and implementation realities.
  • Stay ahead of developments in AI-powered search, semantic search, and emerging SEO practices, incorporating relevant innovations into client strategies.
  • Contribute to a high-performance culture built around ownership, continuous improvement, customer focus, and learning from challenges.
Requirements
  • 3+ years of professional SEO experience, including at least 1 year focused on B2B SaaS.
  • Previous experience in a client-facing SEO strategy position with direct ownership of client communication and relationships.
  • Demonstrated success driving organic growth for B2B or enterprise clients.
  • Strong track record of building trusted client relationships and contributing to client retention.
  • Deep understanding of technical SEO, content strategy, analytics, and SEO performance measurement.
  • Hands-on experience with GA4, GTM, and modern SEO tools.
  • Excellent written and spoken English, with the ability to lead strategic client conversations and produce concise, client-ready communications.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to transform complex or messy SEO data into clear insights and business recommendations.
  • Strong commercial judgment and the ability to prioritize SEO initiatives according to business impact and implementation realities.
  • Confidence challenging assumptions, explaining tradeoffs, and guiding senior stakeholders toward informed decisions.
  • Strong organizational and follow-through skills, with the ability to manage multiple client priorities simultaneously.
  • A proactive, ownership-oriented mindset and genuine interest in continuous learning and emerging SEO trends.
  • Comfortable working independently in a remote, collaborative environment.
  • Candidates who prefer SEO execution without client leadership or ownership of outcomes may not be well suited to this role.
Benefits
  • Competitive base salary with quarterly performance bonuses.
  • 5 weeks of paid time off.
  • Fully remote work environment with flexible working hours.
  • Flexible schedule with at least 4 hours of daily overlap with North American time zones.
  • Health spending account and medical, dental, and vision benefits for eligible Canadian residents.
  • Regular team meetups and annual retreats.
  • Clear career progression opportunities without requiring a move into people management.
  • Exposure to leading B2B SaaS companies and complex, high-impact SEO challenges.
  • Weekly 1:1 coaching with experienced managers.
  • Access to established SEO playbooks, frameworks, and professional development resources.
  • Opportunities to strengthen your skills as a strategist, communicator, and senior client advisor.
  • Collaborative global team environment focused on strategic thinking, innovation, ownership, and continuous improvement.
