Senior Manager, Global Payment Partnerships

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Manager, Global Payment Partnerships based in the United States.

This is a strategic leadership role focused on building and scaling a global ecosystem of payment partnerships. You’ll own relationships with major processors, networks, banks, and technology providers while identifying opportunities to expand payment capabilities into new markets. The role combines commercial strategy, partnership management, negotiation, and complex technical program delivery. You’ll work closely with Product, Engineering, Finance, Legal, Risk, Operations, Treasury, Sales, and senior external stakeholders. Your work will directly influence product expansion, operational performance, payment economics, and customer experience. This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced payments leader who thrives in a high-growth, collaborative technology environment.

Accountabilities:
  • Develop and own the global strategy for strategic payment partnerships, managing relationships with processors, card networks, banks, and technology providers.
  • Build strong executive-level relationships with external partners and establish mutually beneficial strategies for market expansion, product development, and operational improvement.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Product, Sales, Finance, Operations, Treasury, Legal, Risk, and other teams to negotiate agreements, develop integrations, support commercial opportunities, and improve processes.
  • Define service-level agreements, performance standards, and partner commitments, ensuring performance is measured and managed effectively.
  • Lead recurring monthly and quarterly business reviews with strategic partners, using performance metrics and business insights to drive accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Assess payment capabilities and requirements across priority markets and identify the right partners, payment methods, technical infrastructure, and operational models to support expansion.
  • Develop and manage end-to-end implementation plans for new partnerships, integrations, programs, and payment capabilities, ensuring timely delivery across internal and external stakeholders.
  • Lead commercial negotiations, including pricing and contractual agreements, while continuously analyzing processing fees and costs to identify optimization opportunities.
  • Identify, scope, and implement process improvements across areas of partnership ownership to improve efficiency, scalability, and partner performance.
  • Support incident management and escalations when required, coordinating with Engineering, Operations, Customer Success, and external partners to resolve issues effectively.
  • Drive strategic initiatives that strengthen the payment ecosystem and create innovative product experiences and go-to-market opportunities.
Requirements:
  • 10+ years of experience in payments partnerships, program management, business operations, or a closely related field.
  • 3+ years of experience leading and developing teams, with demonstrated people-management capabilities.
  • Proven ability to lead medium- to large-scale technical projects involving external partners and multiple internal stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of product strategy and the role partnerships play in scaling products, payment capabilities, and operations.
  • Experience managing large, complex external relationships, ideally with payment processors, networks, banks, or technology providers.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and executing partnership strategies that support innovative products and go-to-market models.
  • Strong negotiation skills, including the ability to independently lead commercial and contractual negotiations.
  • Experience in payments, payment processing, SaaS, or high-growth technology environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to evaluating partner performance and business opportunities.
  • Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and executive communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize effectively, remain focused under pressure, and operate comfortably in ambiguous and rapidly changing environments.
  • Customer-first mindset with the ability to balance commercial objectives, technical requirements, operational considerations, and customer needs.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills and the ability to influence stakeholders without relying solely on formal authority.
Benefits:
  • Anticipated annual compensation range of $121,200–$134,800 USD, with actual compensation based on experience, qualifications, skills, geographic location, and market considerations.
  • Additional compensation opportunities may include bonuses, commissions, equity, or other incentive programs, where applicable.
  • Open PTO policy providing flexibility in how and when you take time off.
  • Quarterly global “Days of Disconnect” for collective time away from work.
  • Parental and pet-parent leave programs.
  • Quarterly wellness and fitness reimbursement.
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
  • Calm App subscription for employees and up to four eligible dependents over age 16.
  • Professional development and growth opportunities within a collaborative, innovation-focused environment.
  • Remote work flexibility.
  • Inclusive culture centered around personal growth, collaboration, belonging, and employee well-being
