Job Description

Graphic Designer (German and French Speaker)

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Graphic Designer (German and French Speaker) based in South Africa.

This is a remote graphic design opportunity supporting a global pharmaceutical client and working as an integrated member of its dedicated creative team.
You will create engaging, human-centred visual experiences across multiple channels, translating ideas and requirements into polished, production-ready assets.
The role combines creative thinking, strong visual execution, and close collaboration with marketing and client stakeholders.
You will work across branding, digital content, presentations, campaigns, and other design deliverables in an agile environment.
German fluency is particularly important, as you will regularly incorporate and adapt German-language content into your designs.
You’ll join an international, collaborative environment that values creativity, respect, continuous improvement, and diverse perspectives.
This is an excellent opportunity for a mid-level designer looking to make a visible impact within a sophisticated global healthcare and pharmaceutical ecosystem.

Accountabilities
  • Create compelling visual designs and cross-channel experiences that meet client objectives and audience needs.
  • Independently interpret design requirements, develop creative concepts, and drive projects through to completion.
  • Translate German-language copy effectively into high-quality visual designs while maintaining clarity, hierarchy, brand consistency, and usability.
  • Develop simple, effective design concepts, logos, layouts, and low-complexity creative ideas.
  • Produce production-ready specifications and digital assets that can be deployed directly by marketing teams and other stakeholders.
  • Apply accessible-design principles and established visual-design best practices across deliverables.
  • Collaborate closely with marketers, client stakeholders, and wider creative teams to understand requirements and deliver appropriate solutions.
  • Present design concepts clearly, incorporate feedback, and communicate creative decisions with confidence.
  • Contribute to agile marketing processes and adapt efficiently to changing priorities and requirements.
  • Work across a variety of visual disciplines, potentially including animation, iconography, illustration, branding, interaction design, and digital content.
  • Maintain a high standard of quality while demonstrating a collaborative, respectful, and solutions-oriented approach.
Requirements
  • 3+ years of professional experience working as a Graphic Designer or in a comparable visual-design role.
  • A bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Marketing & Communications, or a related discipline.
  • Strong business-level English communication skills.
  • Professional German-language proficiency sufficient to work confidently with German copy on a daily basis.
  • French or another European language is desirable but not essential.
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating creative concepts, visual execution, great ideas, and human-centred design; pharmaceutical or healthcare examples are advantageous.
  • Experience creating production specifications and final assets ready for deployment by marketing teams.
  • Experience designing for cross-channel experiences and working with a range of visual formats.
  • Familiarity with agile marketing practices and experience working within an agile environment are advantageous.
  • Proficiency with design and collaboration tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, InVision, Microsoft Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Additional experience in animation, iconography, illustration, branding, or interaction design is a plus.
  • Experience in pharmaceutical, healthcare, or health technology environments is advantageous.
  • Strong communication, presentation, interpersonal, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage design requirements proactively, and confidently take projects from brief to delivery.
  • A collaborative mindset, strong attention to detail, and commitment to respectful and inclusive teamwork.
  • Alignment with values centred on ambition, teamwork, openness, kindness, respect, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Benefits
  • Fixed-term contract through the end of 2026.
  • Fully remote position aligned with GMT or CET time zones.
  • 25 days of paid annual leave, in addition to South African public holidays and your birthday off.
  • Company-wide Christmas closure with additional days beyond the standard holiday allowance.
  • Monthly entertainment subscription, such as Amazon Prime, Netflix, or Spotify.
  • Access to VDU eye tests and an Employee Assistance Programme (EAP).
  • Wellness initiatives and peer-recognition programmes, including achievement and values awards.
  • LinkedIn Learning access with courses covering business, creative, and technical skills.
  • Employee referral bonus scheme.
  • Company social events, including annual Spring, Summer, Halloween, and Christmas events.
  • Work-from-abroad flexibility for up to four weeks per year.
  • Annual Calm subscription.
  • Inclusive international working environment that values diverse backgrounds, perspectives, identities, and experiences.
  • Opportunity to work closely with a major global pharmaceutical client and gain exposure to complex, high-impact creative projects.
