This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Infrastructure Engineer based in United States.

This is a fully remote infrastructure engineering opportunity supporting business-critical Oracle Utilities environments for clients across North America.
The role combines Linux administration, networking, systems troubleshooting, application infrastructure, and client-facing technical support.
You will design, deploy, maintain, and optimize resilient infrastructure while addressing performance, security, and connectivity challenges.
The position requires strong technical ownership, from root-cause analysis and incident response to infrastructure planning and process improvement.
You will work closely with technical and non-technical stakeholders, translating complex infrastructure requirements into clear plans and practical solutions.
The role offers exposure to enterprise technologies including Linux, SQL, WebLogic, virtualization, Oracle databases, VPNs, and network infrastructure.
Success requires reliability, independence, composure under pressure, and a strong commitment to delivering high-quality client outcomes.

Accountabilities
  • Design, deploy, maintain, and optimize infrastructure supporting reliable and resilient application environments.
  • Perform problem management and root-cause analysis involving system performance, security, application behavior, and network connectivity.
  • Configure and tune hardware and software across internal and client environments to improve reliability and performance.
  • Plan server hardware and software deliverables in detail, communicate technical requirements clearly, and secure alignment from technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Troubleshoot network and connectivity issues, including firewall, VPN, switching, Wi-Fi, voice, and data-flow problems.
  • Identify system and application issues and collaborate with users, clients, consultants, and internal teams to resolve them efficiently.
  • Provide on-call and flexible-hours support for business-critical incidents, go-lives, and time-sensitive infrastructure needs.
  • Maintain and upgrade hardware supporting network and server environments while identifying opportunities to reduce costs and improve infrastructure efficiency.
  • Monitor infrastructure and proactively engage consultants and stakeholders to anticipate changes, risks, and emerging technical requirements.
  • Develop and maintain meaningful operational metrics that accurately reflect the health and performance of infrastructure processes.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and ensure infrastructure activities follow established client procedures and standards.
  • Provide technical support to internal employees and clearly document or explain procedures, solutions, and technical issues.
  • Contribute to infrastructure planning, process standardization, and improvements that strengthen service reliability and client satisfaction.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Network Systems Administration, Information Systems Technology, Engineering, or a related technology field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 5+ years of experience configuring and administering lightweight Linux servers without a graphical user interface, including custom kernel creation, startup automation, and system recovery.
  • 5+ years of experience with shell scripting, middleware, and SQL.
  • Strong Linux command-line administration skills.
  • Practical networking experience with firewalls and VPNs, including SonicWALL, Wi-Fi management, network switch configuration, VLANs, trunking, and multi-switch environments.
  • Experience tuning hardware and software configurations for local and client infrastructure environments.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, root-cause analysis, and critical-thinking abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly the ability to explain technical plans and issues to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong client orientation and relationship-building skills in distributed and remote environments.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities independently, identify risks, and respond quickly to business-critical issues.
  • Ability to provide on-call support and work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends.
  • Reliable home office setup with high-speed internet and the ability to travel approximately 10–25% within the United States when required.
  • Experience with WebLogic administration, including clustered environments, application deployment, monitoring, and performance tuning, is preferred.
  • Experience managing virtualized infrastructure, including VMware vCenter, ESXi, Workstation, or Player, is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Oracle VM/OVM Manager and Veeam Backup and Restore is a plus.
  • Oracle Database Administration experience is preferred.
  • Experience with DNS, name registration, Active Directory, and PowerShell is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and related applications.
  • Knowledge of Oracle Utilities products and/or the energy industry is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated adaptability, continuous-learning mindset, accountability, collaboration, and composure during critical incidents and high-pressure situations.
Benefits
  • Fully remote position based within the United States.
  • Opportunity to work on business-critical infrastructure supporting utility clients across North America.
  • Exposure to Oracle Utilities, Linux, SQL, networking, WebLogic, virtualization, Oracle databases, and enterprise infrastructure technologies.
  • Opportunity to work directly with clients and develop strong technical consulting and communication skills.
  • Varied responsibilities spanning infrastructure engineering, systems administration, troubleshooting, process improvement, and client support.
  • Opportunities to contribute to cost optimization, infrastructure improvements, and standardized operational processes.
  • Professional environment emphasizing reliability, ownership, continuous learning, and technical excellence.
  • Periodic travel opportunities for client go-lives, critical incidents, data center activities, and on-site infrastructure work.
  • Flexible scheduling and on-call support opportunities aligned with business-critical requirements.
