Description:
The CNC Programmer will perform a variety of duties in support of Manufacturing and develops CNC programs for production on CNC vertical mills, horizontal mills, and CNC lathes. This position interacts with engineers, machinists, and other production employees in order to develop efficient production processes. The CNC Programmer is responsible for tooling/fixture selection, toolpath development, and creating setup sheets to provide clear instructions to machinists and troubleshooting and correcting problems that may arise during production.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform all duties below in alignment with Tri Tool’s Imperatives
- Use computer models and prints to develop programs for CNC machining centers using MasterCAM.
- Develop and maintain accurate and up-to-date tooling, fixturing, and toolpath libraries with CAM software.
- Ensure that programmed parts are running efficiently and can print. Work with machinists as needed to correct quality issues that arise.
- Create and standardize setup sheets for the programmed parts.
- Update CAM programs as needed to reflect engineering revision changes on parts.
- Work closely with the Shop Foreman, Shop Lead, and machinists to design, manufacture, and/or order fixturing and tooling.
- May be called upon to set up and operate machining equipment on an as-needed basis.
- Perform installation, repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting of trade-specific systems or equipment.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, drawings, and technical manuals.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment safely and effectively.
- Follow all safety regulations, codes, and company policies.
- Inspect work for quality, accuracy, and compliance with industry standards.
- Identify and report material, equipment, or safety issues.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean work area.
- Communicate progress, issues, and timelines with supervisors or clients.
- Complete required documentation, reports, and job records.
- Submit accurate hours worked on a daily basis, accounting for required breaks and meal periods.
- Work independently and productively while still keeping open communication with others.
- Delivers honest and reliable communication with all individuals with whom they interact.
- Effectively manage time to avoid backtracking and delay of tasks.
- Consistently contributes to a safe, professional, and positive work environment, abiding by Tri Tool Technologies’ policies and procedures at all times.

- Education
- High School diploma OR GED required
- Technical/other on-the-job training preferred
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience with programming CNC mills and CNC lathes required
- Five to ten (5-10) years of experience setting up/operating 3, 4, and 5-axis CNC mills and CNC lathes as well as multi-axis mill/turn machining centers
- Experience with MasterCam 2022 and/or similar CAD/CAM software preferred
- Experience with Fanuc Macro B, Haas, and/or Mazatrol controls preferred
- Knowledge of G-code programming and the ability to edit by hand as needed
- Proficient computer skills in programs such as Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and Internet
- Up-to-date practical knowledge of modern machining processes
- Must be able to pass a background screening
